bunch of clowns saying it was pen: rules clearly state if arm is not in unusual position, that's no penalty

Frustrating thing is that we were creating and everything before the goal. But of course DDG clowns up as usual and we lose all momentum.

I'm honestly so fecking pissed off at De Gea. That was beyond pathetic. Sick of the sight of his face and shaking his head every fecking time he concedes a soft as feck goal. Going to win the golden glove this season with him deserving 0 of the credit. Our defence would win it despite him. Garbage, one of the worst in the league, not a single Premier League club would want him in goal.
Happened to dare mention during Leicester Everton game I thought Pickford would be a much better alternative. The DDG lovers on here weren’t buying it and made their feelings known in no uncertain terms. Oh well, shrugs..

Bit radical I know but as we're desperate for goals how about playing Wout in his normal position, the one he scores loads of goals from in every country but England.
Read my lips. Weghorst. Is. Simply. Not. Good. Enough.

We are bottling this aren't we?

DDG today and Shaw last game, sabotage?

It's pretty funny how good we are at bottling things.

It's a real strength of ours.

Club still going nowhere fast as it stands

Be interesting to see how we come out to this second half. West Ham are there for the taking but not if we continue to play the slow sleepwalking football which we saw in the first half.

It should've been a pen, so I guess going 1 goal down feels more justified now. I'm still mortified by De Gea's mistake though.

Okay, judge him when we finish 5th, does that make it better?
No, judge him by his second season where he had more of players for his preferred style, that makes it better, and common sense. I don't give a feck if we finish 10th this season.

Lindelof is trying to move his arm away from the ball and move his head down to head it. It happens very fast and he misjudges it. Looks dodgy and could definitely see it given, but wouldn't say it's stonewall

It's not tiredness it's tactics. Other than long balls down the channels we don't have any

If these guys bottle top four, I don't think I could handle it.

Because it is his fault we are toothless up front, makes sense. :wenger:
It is his fault for ruining whatever chances we may have had to win with a single goal. If we cannot score, we need to be good at the back and we cannot with a keeper who cannot come collect on crosses, has no ability to pass, keeps giving the ball away and add random blunders, it is his fault.

We were fairly in control of the game before De Gea screwed that save up. The ultimate point is that the ONLY defence offered for his continued presence in the side is that he is a "brilliant shot stopper". If he is going to fail to stop shots as tame as that then he is completely useless to us.

West Ham are sitting deep, we're patiently trying to create openings. They're sitting even deeper now they've scored. Everything was going to plan before the DDG howler. Game plan is out the window now though, not sure we have players to bring on and mix it up
They are sitting deep yes but we face this all the time and don’t get any better at breaking them down. We don’t do pass and move cause most of our players are lazy.

I back ETH but here's what I find concerning: the likes of Rashford, Antony, and Bruno are continuing to take brain dead speculative shots. Surely ETH noticed this before now and yet it continues. If he can't impose his will on these idiots to be more sensible with the ball in attacking positions, then I do wonder about him.

I am more and more questioning ETH as our manager -

I said that, from my point of view, the shine had gone from him after the 2-2 against Sevilla in the matchday thread and was basically laughed at. That was my view then and I'm still the same now. You can't ignore the second half performances in so many matches in this latter half of the season being poor. His frustrating stance on continuing to pick Weghorst really annoys me, when there are other players in our youth setup or bench who could probably do with getting a chance. The tactics are frustrating me, as is our abysmal shooting and questionable away form. I am with you when you say that you question him more and more. He is not immune from criticism. We praise him to high heaven when it goes well, but now we need to see something when we're up against it.

It's the attitude. We won something so now we can take it easy. Post Fergie, our attitude and mentality to fight for anything difficult is zero. ETH also has to take the blame. 90% players. 10% eth.
Yeah could be that along with the lack of prep time. We just look so alarmingly predictable now.

Be interesting to see how we come out to this second half. West Ham are there for the taking but not if we continue to play the slow sleepwalking football which we saw in the first half.
With the urgency of a vegan going to a BBQ

If I can give Ole two years I can give ETH three but he’s not shown much in last 3 months

His squad's exhausted, his two primary defenders are injured, he hasn't got a striker. To expect these problems to magically vanish would be silly.

Signs have been there for ages. I mentioned it during the Betis game and got laughed at for it. Since the Cup Final I don’t know what has happened to us.

Loosing Varane and martinez was massive blow. We are not the same without them. Not only defensively but the play out from the back and high line they hold is so influential on the team.

we can still win this game but need to make changes in attack.

Arm was not in an unusual position so no penalty

Garnacho and Sabitzer in, Weghorst and Erikson out. Let's go all out attack, 1-0 or 3-0 doesn't matter, our goal difference is so bad that it doesn't make a difference.

feck knows what game you're watching.
If De Gea saved that, we'd be sat at 0-0 saying how shite we are and that we'll never score a goal.

Instead we're sat 1-0 down saying how shite we are and that we'll never score a goal.

Fans have such low standards thinking we're playing well because we have more possession against a very negative bottom half side.

Good teams create clear chances, and score them. We do neither.

Stone wall penalty , should be 2 down but I don't think it will matter as we are gone anyway , we are completely bottling this. Someone will gift them a 2nd goal at some stage in the 2nd half.

That looks to me like Lindelof is trying to get his arm out of the way of the ball.
Read my lips. Weghorst. Is. Simply. Not. Good. Enough.
Read your lips. On a written forum. That's the genius of the keyboard warrior right there.

I’ll concede that Ten Hag clearly understands things more than all of us, but I don’t know what he’s thinking to go back to Weghorst at 10 and Bruno left. The novelty factor wore off after the Barca game and it’s been a disaster since.

The only plus side to Weghorst’s game is workrate, which Bruno matches him for anyway. At least just try Sabitzer on the left if you’re desperate for work rate.
