    RvP - Fellaini

    Probably. Maybe.

    DDG
    McNair - Smalling - Rojo - Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini - Di Maria
    Rooney
    RVP - Falcao
    Probably something like this.

Hmm tough call as always, tough away ground and we have alot of fit players. Cannot be certain of anything but Rooney playing midfield and Fellaini up front.

Cannot call the result, completely it could be 3-0 to us or 2-1 to them, or a bore draw, those bubbles will make it a tricky affair, especially for Jones, he might trip, burst one and get hauled off.

    He played 4-4-2 with

    - - - - Blind - - - - -
    Herrera - - - - Di Maria
    - - - - Rooney - - - -
    ----- RVP -- Falcao ---

In our home match, a 2-1 win with goals for Rooney & RVP.

If that was making him nervous and he wants Fellaini's height, then it's most likely for Herrera, who becomes the victim again. But maybe he benches one of Falcao/RVP.

Not sure about West Ham's set up, so the 5-3-2 might also be an option. Valencia and Young as wingbacks again?

So LvG has clarified that Herrera is not able to make it into the team because we have better midfielders like Rooney in the team..

    - De Gea -
    McNair - Smalling - Rojo - Shaw
    - Blind -
    Rooney - Di Maria
    - Fellaini -
    RvP - Falcao

I'm guessing it'll 3-4-1-2 with Di Maria up front unfortunately,

    ------RVP--DiMaria------
    ---Rooney-Fellaini-----
    Shaw--Blind----Valencia/Young
    -Rojo-Smalling-McNair-

and we'll try to beat them on the break.

Personally, I'd play what I think is one of our stronger counter-attacking lineups and hope to beat them with some pace when they turn it over/hit an aimless cross or two:

    ----------RVP---------------
    Rooney-Herrera-----------
    -----Fellaini----DiMaria-----
    Shaw---Blind--Rafael/McNair
    -----Rojo-Smalling-------
    --------De Gea------

Rooney and Di Maria facing infield (inverted wings) which should give them better odds of hitting RVP over the top, Herrera free to chase and link up. Lots of good attacking options off the bench and Fellaini is around to help with Allardyce-ball.

Can I get a comment about us needing a winger in my location so I can stop mentioning it at the end of every post?

    What I expect:
    De Gea
    McNair Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini Rooney diMaria
    v.Persie Falcao

    What I'd play:
    De Gea
    McNair Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Fellaini Blind
    Herrera Mata diMaria
    Rooney

Whenever we play away I mess up on the score prediction thing as I always put our score first.

Playing two out and out strikers (particularly RvP and Falcao) together is starting to become a real bugbear of mine, so I hope we play one (preferably RvP) even if we put Fellaini behind.

hard to see Mata starting this one given West Ham's physicality but who knows what game plan LVG will have....

    I'd play

    ------------------DDG-------------------
    McNair------Jones----Rojo-------Shaw
    --------------Blind----Fellaini-----------
    ---------Herrera------------Di Maria---
    ------------------Rooney----------------
    ------------------RVP-------------------

nice balance about this side I think and good attacking options (Falcao/Wilson/Mata/Young and Januzaj) - Valencia will probably play but McNair deserves more time at RB after that Cafu-like performance against mighty Cambridge

This will be a lot more comfortable than people make out.

We don't have the defensive panic that we did earlier in the season. We have 2 or 3 combinations of midfield to control the center of the park. The issue is whether we will be creative enough to get a goal.

West Ham will not sit back, so I think we have a good chance of making this a comfortable win, not by a big margin, but being in control for most of the match.

West Ham don't come into this in the best league form do they? Apart from the win against Hull, I don't recall them winning a game since before the christmas run of games kicked in.

If we take our chances, we'll win. Just like we would've done at Spurs.

Oh and don't stick Jonny Evans in defence and all should be well.

Must win game now that we're level on points with Spurs. They've hit a great patch of form but we should be too much for West Ham.

    Who's injured these days?

    De Gea
    Valencia--Smalling--Rojo--Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini--Di Maria
    Rooney
    Falcao--van Persie

Or Januzaj in for Falcao with Rooney going up front.

Suddenly a big game in my books has turned into a huge game. Arsenal dropping points, Spurs level with us now, Southampton currently dropping points, City dropping points.

We have to make the most of it. If he goes all defensive tomorrow I will be disappointed. Ok West Ham can be dangerous, but this is a chance to make sure of CL places.

Sort of game we need to win if we want to make the top 4, especially with how results are going today. I hope we don't play RVP and Falcao together or three at the back but given how we normally line up away from home I can't see anything other than 3-5-2 and both players starting.

Given our form away from home I expect a draw, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a narrow defeat as I have no doubts west ham will raise their game against us.

We can't loose this game tomorrow, absolute must win, 5 teams all fighting for 2 places, so tight

If we win it could be a huge result for us. Opening up a 4 point gap with 5th And 6th, with Burnley, Swansea, Sunderland, Newcastle and spurs at home to come. Not the easiest run but all very winnable games.

As long as we win tomorrow I'll take it after today's results. Probably won't even care if it was because of two West Ham own goals, with us playing 8 defenders creating 0 chances. Never thought I would say that, but it's how I feel right now.

Whilst I still think we will win the game, having Carroll out means that Valencia and Sakho are two tricky customers. I hope we play Smalling and Rojo as CB's to counter their pace.
Would be delighted to have a Blind, Herrera and Fellaini midfield and Rooney up top.

Yup. A win is a win at this stage - especially when things are so tight between 5-6 teams.

    --------------DDG---------------
    Valencia--Jones--Rojo---Shaw
    -------------Blind-----------
    ------Herrera---Di Maria-----
    -----------Rooney-------------
    -----Falcao--------RVP---------

Bench: Wilson, Mata, Fellaini, Young, Smalling, Mcnair, Valdes

    De Gea
    McNair Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Fellaini Rooney diMaria

    Rooney

I don't disagree on either count. Rooney needs to be playing up front on his own with some mobility and drive in the midfield behind him. As you say, it won't happen. With this squad, LVG always has to play with two strikers.
