I just don't understand why you wouldn't. I have seen nothing bar the occasional moment to suggest there is any point to having Rooney in midfield. Plus Di Maria is wasted when he operates so high up the pitch.

LVG just seems too stubborn, if Strootman's knee injury forced him to retire he'd still try sign him.

ive been a supporter of LVG but now im wondering maybe his philosophy is to blame, if elite players like AdM, Falcao, RvP, Rooney, and now januzaj are struggling under his philosophy and clearly not playing to the best of their abilities.
