I think at some point Fellaini or Herrera will have to come on and support Blind because we might get outplayed in the middle.

Am I the only one who sees this lineup as suicidal rather than attacking? Only one genuine midfielder.

Good team, my only gripe would be the fact Jones is in there over Smalling. To anyone surprised at Herrera absence, it's time to stop expecting him to be in the team.

Thought Fellaini would start this and Rooney is going to end up sticking out yet again. Not bad overall though and great Januzaj is getting starts.

4 at the back. Everyone can cheer up.

Januzaj over Herrera suggests width in a 4-4-2.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Shaw
Januzaj - Blind - Rooney - Di Maria
    Van Persie - Falcao

    Rather than:

    De Gea
    Valencia - Jones - Rojo - Shaw
    Blind
    Rooney - Januzaj
    Di Maria
    Van Persie - Falcao

10/11 for me. Only one I missed out is Januzaj over Fellaini

Same, I made that change right before deadline. :( It's getting really tight at the top, hopefully Mata, Herrera and Wilson can get me some bonus points.

I fell like Van Persie will have to go support the midfielders and leave Falcao alone up top.

Strong, attacking starting lineup. Pleased with the continuity. Have a feeling we will score atleast 4 goals today.

2 of our 3 best players against Cambridge don't start... but then I suppose it was only Cambridge. Decent enough side for where we currently are (i.e Rooney in midfield, Falcao and RVP both upfront).

Surprised no Fellaini but I'm looking forward to see how Falcao and RvP do in this type of game. Not sure why Smalling has dropped out either as he's been quietly impressive in our recent defensive form. Januzaj has to step up. His last run of games were very average and Mata is hitting form and won't be surprised to see one of the forwards sacrificed if things go pot.

Good team but I think we'll get over run in the middle. One of Van Persie/Falcao should've been sacrificed IMO.

Thing is, Rooney is being shoe-horned into midfield because he's the captain and 'he has to start' as they say. The 4 - 4 - 2 is great to see, but that line-up is way too open.

    de Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Januzaj - - - Di Maria
    Rooney
    RVP Falcao

    Formation?

Although I would prefer your line-up, I think Rooney be on the right, Januzaj on the left and Di Maria behind two strikers - similar to when we played Leicester.

We've gotten lucky with West Ham's injuries. Should beat them comfortably I think.

I got 10/11 had Smalling instead of Jones :(

I'm sorry but that's a shocking lineup! We only have 1 proper midfielder in there, I would've dropped RVP for fellaini and have herrera in for janujaz. Much more solid that way!

Smalling is no better than Jones. Both are not good enough to be first choice in the long term but at least Jones is about 3 years younger and has the potential to be a good squad player for us. Smalling was rancid in his last PL start against Southampton.

No Carroll has influenced the line up big time. Think LVG fancies his chances to out play them.

Was expecting Fellaini to appear and probably a back 3 too. Pleasantly surprised and unusually optimistic here.

The good thing about Mata not starting is, if we're being a bit rubbish - him coming off the bench usually leads to us playing better football... where as when Adnan comes off the bench he generally tries a bit too hard and over does things.

Well, this should be a fun game.

    Attack, attack. Attack, attack, attack!

mmm my son says the same , he thinks we will win 4-1.

    Let's hope he's right ! :D

Looking at our fixtures during the business end of the season vs other Top 4 competitors, qualification for the Champion's League spots might go down to the wire. It's imperative that we increase the goal difference in case things come down to it with tied point totals.

    4231 maybe ?
    ..............de Gea
    Valencia Jones Rojo Shaw
    .........Blind - Rooney
Januzaj - Falcao- - Di Maria
    ..............RVP

Very attacking line-up but am surprised that Fellaini didn't start. That is still a strong West Ham line up and we are going to have to support Blind and the defence a lot when we are without the ball. Having said that, with our forwards against their defence, we should look to create a lot of chances and score a few goals.

Fine with that bar Rooney in CM. Surprised but happy to see Januzaj instead of Fellaini. The type of match where creativity and trickery will be our best be for 3 points, not simply matching up our big bodies with theirs.

Hopefully West Ham will try to play rather than sit back.
This should give us more space in attack. Hopefully we can score one or two goals.

I think the team looks unbalanced.

Still think we should win though.
