I'm well aware of the context. I know Jose isn't obsessed with McTominay. He clearly rates him, thinking back to the player awards last season. But him playing today isn't the result of an obsession.
I just asked a question of whether he should be playing ahead of any of the midfielders I mentioned.Martial + West Ham = Goals

The last time Martial scored against West Ham was in 2017, though.Well at least there's some intrigue to how we'll line up, Fellaini has dropped really deep on occasion without being an actual CB so perhaps he'll do similar, certainly looks like Shaw and Young will have to play more advanced to provide consistent attacking width.Dalot isn't going to be overplayed, it's good management.

Thought he’s been the exact opposite in some games. When fellaini has played deeper it freed up Matic range of passing in a more advanced role and think he excels at releasing it quickly.

Point being his last goal against West Ham was over a year ago, before he had requested a transfer and when his form was somewhat viable. Martial hasn't performed well since Sanchez was signed. I don't see any reason why he would perform well today given his current poor form - good record against West Ham or otherwise.Just realised I have to stream this shite. What an insult to injury.

Martial and lukaku? Plus two likely attacking wingbacks in shaw and young. I’m sure he’d rather mbappe, griezzemann, dembele and giroud, but maybe, just maybe, he can take some responsibility for his own performance. I bet he’d be the best in the world if only mbappe, messi, Ronaldo and Suarez were around him.
Moyes would have loved this team with his endless crossing tactic...Lukaku with hat trick, Martial with brace, And Pogba and Felli one goal.
