That's an interesting choice of lineup... Carrick going for all the players who keep possession best (apart from no Matic but Mctominay in). At least it wasn't the same cookie cutter shit. Bruno dropped is something Ole never did, though Van de Beek for me isn't a 10 anyway.

Both are players suited to the flanks of a three-man midfield though. Fred isn’t a holding midfielder. He wants to engage the opposition, win the ball back and run forward. McT is better as a box-to-box man.
