I just hope we bring on some one from u21 or u18 in our attack. Just to give them few mins and make people realize they are not sure shot starters.. and give Altay a chance

Cup competition so I'm expecting United to score plenty here.

Should be an exciting game, it's the league form that depresses me, but we can forget about that until the weekend.

    Going for a 4-1 victory.

Hoping we rotate some of the weaker players in for this one.

We need to try and have our best possible 11 out for the league game otherwise we're going to be cut totally adrift soon.

We need to win this one, but at the same time, we need to rest some players for the next PL match.

In normal circumstances, our B team should win easily this game.

    -------------------------------------------------Onana--------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------------Yoro--------------Maguire------------Martinez----------------------
    Antony---------------------Casemiro-------------Eriksen-------------------------Malacia
    ---------------------------------------Mount-----------Rashford-----------------------------------
    -------------------------------------------------Zirkzee------------------------------------------------

With city at the weekend, this may be a good time to try out some younger players. Kukonki, Amass, Obi Martin, Ibragimov, Jack Fletcher, we've got a few who would be fine to give some game time to and who could do a good job for us. Even off the bench. We need to be at full strength and fitness at the weekend. I'm not too fussed on Europe at the minute. The league should be priority

    Onana

    Yoro Maguire Kukonki

    Antony Casemiro Mainoo Amass

    Zirkzee Obi Martin Mount
Going in with nine players is a bit radical (sorry, I don't count Zirkzee or Mount)

    Bayandir
    Maz - Maguire - Martinez
    Antony - Casemeiro - Eriksen - Malacia
    Mount - Rashford
    Zirkzee

A lot of negative result predictions.
    • Viktoria Plzen 1:3 Man Utd
    • Viktoria Plzen 0:3 Man Utd
    • Viktoria Plzen 0:1 Man Utd
    • Viktoria Plzen 0:2 Man Utd
That's the top four predictions at the moment on here which I would see as optimistic as my realistic mindset tells me United will get a draw at best.
    Dead rubber.
Far from it. This competition is arguably United's most important this season now.

    Altir
    Malacia
    Maguire
    Kukonki
    Maz
    Dalot
    Casemiro
    Eriksen

    Zirkzee

    Subs

    Onana
    Martinez
    Yoro
    De Ligt
    Amass
    Fletcher
    Ugarte
    Mainoo
    Bruno
    Diallo
    Garnacho
    Hojlund

Just trying to rest as many as possible for the weekend, not realistic, especially Kukonki.

Full strength. We lose Thursday and we could be on the cusp of elimination. We lose Sunday, heh.

We have seen in numerous cup games over the past years that our second string is not very good. I don't think Eriksen, Casemiro, Antony, Zirkzee and co will get us 3 points comfortably. It will be a draw or a slim victory.

I like your linear style. Very artistic.

    Looks like a big "L"

I do think Amorim really needs to settle on a main 11. I understand wanting to get the squad used to the tactics but I think now calls for a consistent 11 to start games where possible until the January window.

He doesn’t have 11 players he can rely on week in week out. Also we have City three days after this.

I'd put Bayindir in goal for this one. Onana needs to be sent a message.

We need to prioritize this as getting into top 8 and avoiding an additional knockout round is important. We have this, Rangers and FCSB left an ideally need to pick up all 9 points to be confident of a top 8 finish, with 7 being the bare minimum to be within a shot.

I have no idea if this team is any good or not but I fully expect us to bottle a 2 goal lead at some stage.

United have never won a game in Czech, First game there for 20 years and this will be the the 4th in total.

    October 2004 - 0-0 v Sparta Prague
    September 1983 - 2-2 v Dukla Prague
    December 1957 - 1-0 v Dukla Prague

    Onana
    Yoro - Maguire - Martinez
    Dalot - Ugarte - Mainoo - ?
    Bruno - Garnacho
    Zirkzee
Figure we'll see a fair few changes with players rested for the derby. Maybe Martinez plays both after being suspended and getting a break.
Our left wing options are mostly terrible. Could Mount play there maybe?

    This is my City team.

    Onana
Maz - De Ligt - Martinez
    Dalot - Ugarte - Casemiro - Malacia
    Amad - Bruno
    Hojlund

So assuming maximum rotation, something like this for Plzen :

    Onana
    Yoro - Maguire - Martinez
    Antony - Mainoo - Eriksen - Amass
    Garnacho - Rashford
    Zirkzee
Yoro needs minutes before he’s ready for a game like City, similar story to Mainoo who imo was the worst player in the Forest game.

At some point vs plzen, bring on Mount, Maz, De Ligt

Will be interesting to see how much he rotates. Good case either way, because this needs to be a comfortable victory for our EL standing but we also play City on Sunday.

Personally just want to see Amad in the front 3, and Yoro get another start under his belt. Don't care about the rest

Amad should be played as one of the 10s now that Yoro is back. We have maz and Dalot who can now play that RWB role. Amad as all the attributes Amorim likes in his number 10s. I’m thinking this competition is our most realistic chance of getting back into the CL so need to go strong here.

I'm just worried that he's done too good of a job as a RWB to be moved. Hope I'm wrong though

We need a win optics wise. Our best playing players should start.

Onana, Mazzouri, Maguire, someone, amad, Ugarte, cas, dalot, Bruno, Zirzkee, Holjund

I get the feeling Amorim might target this competition more-so than the Premier League table climb. I'd have to say I think we have more chance of winning this than finishing 4th.

If we want one of the automatic qualification places, we'll probably need to win the remaining games, although it is quite a tight league table at the moment. When you look at our position in the league and the opponents we have, there's a real chance for us to take one of those spots.

Viktoria Plzen are a place behind us on GD, Rangers (who we face next at Old Trafford) are a point ahead but also have to play Spurs. FSCB are again a point above us where we travel last. That's before considering other teams playing each other above us meaning they have to lose points. It might still be the case we need to win all three, but there's a chance we could sneak in with a draw if it's against the right team (eg. it could come down to us or FSCB in the last game, if we're above them at the time a draw would do).

I really like this league stage format. It'll be interesting to have the data going forward into future years of European competitions to see what the expected points totals are to get you qualified in the top 8. A bit of an unknown entity at the moment!

These are the kind of games that these clowns find ways to lose.

Heads up everyone that its a 5.45pm kick off tomorrow, I only just twigged that.

When we had Romero deputising in these kind of competitions it put a bit more pressure on DDG.

That's why Bayindir should be playing in these games, to avoid complacency.

Viktoria Plzeň has won the Czech First League 6 times (having first won it in 2022)

At first I thought you were a secret time traveller, then I thought the Czech FL might be a lot shorter than I'd expected, then I realised you probably just meant 'last' instead of 'first' :)

Having seen the squad list, I wonder if there really isn't any other youth players that could have travelled as well? Collyer really the only one?
