No Gaya, Gabriel Paulista, Guedes or Gameiro for Valencia. Thats four of their best players.
Manager stating that they are prioritizing their game in La Liga against Eibar.

Why don't we go for a full strength team and try to beat Valencia? Not like we have much going for us in the league now. There is a chance we can still win the group. It is no guarantee Juventus will beat Young Boys away seeing today's results, look at PSV bottom of the group with nothing to play for and they held Inter to a draw at the San Siro. If we beat Valencia and Juventus draw, we will win the group ahead of Juve on head to head. We will get a much easier draw and with a bit of luck, who knows we can do a Liverpool and make it to the final. In a one-off final with Mourinho, we can win it. This is far better than trying to focus on top 4 in the league which is realistically out of our reach now. Winning the Champions League is the ONLY way for us to get back into it next season. There's no other way now. If I were Mourinho, I'd treat every league game as a training session now and go full Leicester 2015/2016 posessed mode in Europe. Come on United I know we can do it! We will win the Champions League! I'm gonna put where my mouth is and I am seriously thinking of putting a thousand pound on us winning the Champions League at 30/1. GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!

Give me the £1000 and I'll pay you £30k if we do it

Boring dead rubber this one I guess as Juventus are going to trash Young Boys. Guess we should be grateful for being in this position, considering our season. Funny to think we're a missed sitter vs Valencia at home away from potentially topping this group. Scary to think we are a last-minute goal away from the decider against Spanish team away from home, though.

Liverpool Sunday mate. No words for the rest of your post.

We don't even bother with PC threads anymore. Everyone is coasting.

Difficult to see what the plan is here. The obvious points are, IMO, that a main midfield three of Pereira, Pogba, and Fred is going to happen. It could be a diamond with McTominay at the base. I think Scott will start, but I'm unsure as to whether he will be part of a back three instead.

Rojo could be deployed at Left Back, as it's strange that all of Dalot, Shaw and Darmian have been left out (barring injuries). Maybe it does mean Jose is going to roll with Dalot and Shaw at Anfield? I was sure he'd be trying to play Young & Shaw there. It's difficult to determine whether Jose will want to protect Jones or Young more tonight as I assume at least one of them faces 'pool.

I'm still thinking a front two of Lukaku and Rashford, while Romero, Valencia, Bailly and Rojo are guaranteed to start IMO. So:

    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Rojo Young
    McTominay
    Fred Pereira Pogba
    Lukaku Rashford

    Romero
    McTominay Bailly Rojo
    Valencia Fred Pereira Pogba Young
    Lukaku Rashford

    Romero
    Valencia Jones Bailly Rojo
    McTominay
    Fred Pereira Pogba
    Lukaku Rashford

I'm pretty sure one of these will be the starting line-up. Garner and Greenwood to both get minutes from the bench, along with probably Mata.

    So I predict

    Romero
    Valencia Bailly Jones Young
    Fellaini Periera Pogba
    Mata Lukaku Rashford

Will be interesting to see how Pogba react's, most normal people want this horrific manager gone but it's probably not going to happen till May so he and we have to get on with it, hopefully he shows a good attitude and takes the game to a pitiful Valencia side.

Will be interesting to see if Dalot not travelling means he'll be starting against Liverpool, I'd have expected him to play all 90 in this game and Mou to opt for experience at full-back against Liverpool. Lukaku will likely get the nod as it would be daft to bench him just as he starts scoring goals again. Rashford similarly should be played to keep his momentum going but not play all 90. Pogba should be given a chance to prove he deserves to start the derby so hopefully he'll get a start. Also keen to see Pereira and Fred and see if one of them can play their way into starting a few more Premier League games. Would also love to see Garner or Greenwood sneak some minutes.

Talk is Pogba, Fred, Pereira. What the hell is Jose going to do if they perform well together? Matic & Fellani against Liverpool, presumably :(

I changed my prediction but i just dont believe Mourinho will play Fred, Pogba and Pereira from the start. Too much technical ability, potential for short quick passing and a lack of physical strenght. I predict a Fred, Pogba and Fellaini so the average technical ability goes down but the average height and strenght goes up. Maybe even McT instead of Fellaini... Pogba, Fred and Pereira just doesnt look like a Mourinho midfield at all.

A Pogba, Fred and Pereira could actually be fun to watch!

He played a Pogba, Fred & Pereira midfield 3 at the start of the season against Leicester & Brighton.

So, we won 1 and lost the other. Correct?
I just don't see Jose repeating that. I think he'll opt for 2 giants in midfield. Pogba is one and Fella or McT will be the other.

I don't see him playing Rashford tonight for a full game anyway. He seems to be his favourite attacker at the moment.

Pogba needs to get some playing time. He deserves to have some fun out there, without worrying about making mistakes that would cost us in an important game. Hopefully that will lead to him getting on the right track again.

because our players have a strong tendency to pick up injuries.

Could be a disaster too.Not one of these players can actually tackle well.
We may look ok with the ball but teams will run through that midfield. Its the softest central base we could put out, which says it all.

    (4-2-2-2)
    DeGea

    Valencia
    Bailly
    Rojo
    Young

    McTominay
    Pereira

    Fred
    Pogba

    Rashord
    Lukaku

Get Rashford and Pogba off after an hour. Hoping for a few goals, no injuries, minutes for Garner and move onto the big one on Sunday .

Doesn't look like he's been playing with much fear all season. Countless times he's been caught dilly dallying and showboating before being harassed off the ball.

He doesn't deserve anything, hes obligated to play a proper game though.

    Simply not true.
And even if he has it doesnt matter because he won the World Cup, so there!

    Umm...LEAVE POGBA ALONE !

    Agreed on all accounts.
And for someone who is regarded as a senior player, I expect more from him.
If we put in an 18 year old, I'd allow for him to make mistakes, but for someone of Pogba's standing - this is unacceptable.

Yes. Whenever he plays inconsistently I must remember the 4 good games out of 7 on the World stage for his country.
