This is arguably our last big chance to rest first-team players before the Christmas period and with Liverpool at Anfield on the weekend, it's pretty much guaranteed there will be wholesale changes. Liverpool have to go full throttle against Napoli, so we might have a chance at a result there if we have the right players fit and ready.
I expect to see Romero, Dalot, Rojo, McTominay, Pogba, Fred, and maybe A.Pereira given the chance to start here. The rest depends on who's fit, as if Bailly is fit I think he'd start over Jones (unfortunately I believe Smalling & Jones would be José's preferred choice against Liverpool with Lindelof unlikely to be ready by then). The more 'current first-XI' players I think we'll see here are Shaw and Lukaku, possibly Rashford or Lingard:
Romero
Dalot Bailly Rojo Shaw
McTominay
Fred Pogba
A.Pereira
Lukaku Rashford
---
Grant; Darmian, Jones; Fellaini, Herrera, Mata; Lingard
Lukaku and Rashford starting is something I'd like to see given they both managed some end product in the last few games with goals and assists. While they're producing, they should keep playing and hopefully provide the goods when we face Liverpool. I personally think Dalot wouldn't be exposed to Anfield just yet, so I'm more-so expecting Ashley Young to be saved for that game at Right Back. Antonio Valencia could be used in this game, or maybe from the bench, but for now, I'd say it'll be Darmian to sub on for Shaw and Dalot gets the 90 minutes. Fresh midfield as I think Matic & Herrera +1 play against Liverpool (probably Fellaini). I'd say no de Gea, Young, Smalling, Matic, or Martial in the squad to give them the best chance of being fully ready for Liverpool.
As for this game, I wouldn't even be bothered if we lose as long as Lukaku/Rashford play well and we take no further injuries (especially to Shaw). I'll say 1-1, though.
