Dunno if it’s the system or our players, probably the latter, but I thought this system would be super fluid. It just seems to be going out wide constantly then nothing. I thought there would be a lot of movement between the 10s the 9 and the wingbacks.

I've said for a while that he's one of the problemsWe should not be behind but here we are. Tottenham is poor and leaves lot of space. Yeah they have both been really bad. 20 games into this formation and most the players still have no idea how to play it.

Zirkzee’s technical ability is world class - the only good thing I saw.What's even more annoying is we've played shite but should have scored 1 minimum. At least he stays fit. That's the one good thing about him these days.A lot of doom and gloom in here but I think we’ve been a bit better than other recent games tbh. We’ve made some good chances and while the midfields is compromised it’s not been that critical of an issue.
Last 10-15mins hasn’t been great though and there is no way around our shocking finishing. It’s been the biggest of our many problems. Only 3/4 games in and we’d missed something like a dozen big chances. We need reliable goalscorers.We’re paying the price for not prioritising central midfield over many seasons, starting with Ole and continuing with ETH.
Casemiro and Eriksen were stopgaps, which only worked for less than a season.
Both are very the hill now.
Mainoo and Collyer are recent youngsters coming through and we have only brought in Ugarte.
Get a few injuries and some illness and we have nobody to fill the void.
A day like today was always on the cards.
Agree.could be a repeat of the City game at the Eithad, 2 poor sides, we come back to win near the end.
Midfield lacking mobility
Might not be complicated. Doesn’t mean it’s right though does it and that’s the problem!! How many games have we looked even just ok? 2? 3 at the most. It’s shocking.

Thought De Ligt was caught flat footed for their goal, although it would be nitpicking as it was a bit fortunate for them.

If we can get hold of the ball then we can hurt Spurs, but we are going to need to fix a few things first. Take Casemiro off for Kone or Heaven and get Bruno to play closer to him so we are a bit more solid in the middle.Zirkzee has looked class today, his touch and dribbling have really caught me off guard. Bruno however has had an absolute disaster class and keeps messing everything up.Why weren’t we bombing down the left, Dorgu was in acres of space, instead of passing backwards and sideways. I just feel the players either aren’t listening to instructions or simply don’t understand what to do?

I think you two completely misunderstood my post. I have no problem with Bruno playing as a centre midfielder. The problem I have is the way he is being asked to play which is what I said in my initial post.
I'd be interested to know why Amorim has opted for Bruno being thebperson pressing the left back, as opposed to sitting in the pivot with Casemiro.With the ball Spurs are miles ahead of us. They actually look like they know what they're doing and know how to hurt a team. While our players are hesitant and look like they're trying to work out a gameplan while they're on the pitch
Garnacho should have scored though. And obviously results wise Spurs are no better than us. But I think its because of their defending - with the ball they're pretty good at least compared to us- Status
