    Thats just not true. Every player he has brought in has been an upgrade.

    I don't see how Young on the right would be an improvement over Mata. I can't recall Young ever playing well on the right. Valencia, on the other hand, could be an option.

    I agree that those weren't chances that he had to score. But he had to do something productive with them rather than let defender nick them off him or try lame lobs.

    Hopefully he's better in the second.
     
    Our attack is really worrying. 2 goals in 3 and a half PL games is appalling. Especially considering one of them was from Kyle Walker, for feck's sake. If we don't strengthen, we're not winning the title, simple as that.
     
    I really don't get why we are always this static. One would have thought this is something that got addressed by now but for the better part of 3-4 seasons there is little to no movement in our team apart from the occasional game where our lads show that they actually still know how to move around the pitch without the ball when in possession it remains totally absent from our game in about 75% of our games every season.
     
    It's as if the team doesn't have a clue how to attack. I'd get Mata off and bring on Young. pace is needed.

    ... and invariably fails. Sorry, he's not been any better than Mata in the PL so far.

    None of his shots was even threatening, and I say that as someone who defended Rooney a lot recently.

    We need Rooney at 10 and a new forward. He's just not got the attributes to be our only option up front...
     
    Should bring young on for mata. Schweini also hanging onto the ball for too long and slowing the attack down. Swansea are closing down space really well. We need to play more cross field passes and isolate depay against the full back.

    Mata just isn't a winger, if we'd bought Pedro and played him behind Rooney, I wouldn't mind betting he'd be one of our best player most weeks.

    If we don't get a right winger in then it couid be hard watch this season.

    One own goal and one deflection. We have scored a proper goal in 4 games.
     
    LVG will get happy with all the possession we've had. So fecking boring to watch, Mata is awful today and is predictable! Defence can't handle Gomis!
     
    Rooney and Mata has been poor. We badly need a right winger, playing Mata on the wing is like playing with two n10s we never look dangerous when attacking on the right wing because Darmian is asked to take care of that whole side on his own.

    Think you quoted the wrong message, didn't see the original making these points but yes would be pointless making that change. Need Herrera to sit slightly deeper, and look to take the ball on whilst heading towards goal. Mata/Memphis should get it wide and look for Herrera coming from a slightly deeper position. Unfortunately LVG likes him further up the pitch.

    And this is why I can't understand some posters that say that this transfer window has been a success.

    We've done well with the transfers completed but it's as clear day to everyone and their dog that we need a centre half, winger and striker. Not signing Pedro is looking like a massive feck up.

    Broken record. Problem seems to be it is never a different day, unless we play a depleted Brugges side who has defense more akin to Swiss cheese than a football defensive wall.

    The biggest problem is Rooney who's undroppable. No matter how shit he plays we tend to sign players that can help him score. He's like that dead albatross that we have to hang around our neck since we pay him 300K in wages and made him our club captain.

    If only SAF had gotten rid of Rooney before he had left , if only.
     
    Mata needs to stop passing it back, or killing the counter-attack or killing any possibility of passing it forward.

    It's so frustrating to see him either kill the progress forward or holding it for too long and having the ball passed all the way back to the keeper or just lose it in general.

    I miss De Gea's Distribution.
     
    People asking mata not to pass sideways just watch the players in the box and not the ball, rooney is absolutely static that's why players go backwards or switch play when we find the edge of the box.

    It's not enough to get to the final, you've got to move around in it as well.

    No, early on he went on the outside quite a few times. Obviously his first choice is cutting in but atleast he has the option of going outside, mata just doesn't have that. Taylor knows he's coming inside every time so he can give him all the room down the line he wants.

    Standard nowadays, must say we haven't been great. I defended us against Newcastle where I genuinely felt we played well but today we've been bad going forward. At the same time Swansea away is not exactly an easy fixture so we need to take that into consideration.

    Our keeper needs to stop trying to kick with this left foot. It is shit. He is slow adjusting to change feet. Our players still think they have De Gea there and don't pass the ball in such a way that it comes to Romero where he can use his right.

    I love the man, but if you ever needed proof of how misleading stats can be, then there it is. I suppose there hasn't been much competition in terms of creativity, but there's been nothing creative about Mata's performance so far.
     
    Be interesting to see who Fellaini replaces. Would personally put him upfront instead of Rooney.
