At least Carrick is starting. If Swansea don't put the press on he should be able to control the game.

What will we be dealt today with that lineup? the funny thing is, we'll probably win.

    Jones will take corners.
    Then get off injured
United will concede an early goal
    Ibra will walk
And we ll all complain about Roo.

Most interesting is how Jose is punishing his defenders. Blind and Shaw especially

Ho, no wingers at all in this game neither dribbler so probably no speed or penetration.

Look like Jose is gambling with this selection.

This is what happens when you have a few key players injured and others who are out of form. The reality is that we have a very poor squad. A lot of these players won't be here in two years time if Jose stays.

Am I the only one not that bothered by the line up? Hearing lots of so and so should play, despite little evidence anyone is in form besides Mata.

Honestly, this is the team Jose selects. Forget this, I'm gonna forget United are playing and will look forward to the nfl games later. I was actually happy we sacked LVG and got Jose. May mates told me we had funked up with Jose. How right they were.

Good call, I enjoyed them for the first time in years last week

On paper, the first-half has everything to be the worst football we show in a while.

    Horrendous team. Absolutely dreadful.

Some of Mourinho's decisions are bizzare at best. Why would you start Young over Martial or Mkhitaryan. How can anyone possibly think Young offers more in attack?

This is a disgraceful lineup, we deserve to lose. Swansea should be ashamed if they don't get points verus us. Rooney, Mata, Ibra, Carrick and Fellaini in the same team. Literally makes a mockery of United teams of old

Well obviously we have been using wingers too much. If anyone picked that team, good on ya. Looks like park the bus with a hope of the odd counter attack.

Counter attack with Rooney, Mata and Ibra  More like nick a goal from the penalty spot or freekick.

    Feeling of trepidation
A lot of experience in United’s starting XI or a lot of tired old legs? Which is it. On the evidence so far this then Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic certainly come into the latter category of fatigued limbs.

Carrick and Young’s legs have not been over-loaded this season but will they be match sharp?

In defence you have an Italian who is playing because the first choice is injured, sadly one who hasn’t played since January and has been pigeon-holed as injury prone.

An Argentinian who has not convinced at all and a makeshift third or fourth choice left back. Why do I have a feeling of trepidation about all this.

United look like a bit of a hotch-potch selection.

God knows how we're gonna line up there, don't think we've ever fielded such a slow looking team. Oh well, lets see how it goes...

Carrick is class but can he last the first half let alone 90

I think Young might be at LB!

Jones to get injured in the first half and Ki-seung, does he still play for swansea, if so, he is going to have a blinder...always does that cnut...

Can we all but confirm now that Micky T was signed as a sweetener for Pogba and Zlatan?

Either that or he really did drop the lip and ask for a transfer after the City game?

Ki and Sigurdsson usually great against us.

Perhaps a diamond formation looking at our team.

Young has done well at left back in the past. I'm not overly worried about him. In fact he usually puts in a decent shift

He is a squad player and can be useful
Pretty sure he'll be right back with Darmian left. But yeah I'm for some reason not all that worried about the back 4. Its the lack of anyone who can run with the ball in the front 6.

And to think Mourinho played his luck against Fenerbahçe… Should have rested the team and have them able to play today.

Jose really doesn't fancy Shaw does he, unless he's injured (and even then I suspect it would be a cover up) he's been dropped completely

    Mkhitaryan likewise

Strangest lineup I've seen in a while. No speed, arguably our best players dropped. This is such a gamble for us, zero speed. He's clearly trying to put his authority down on this squad but with a shocking lineup. Talk about a dodgy back line.

I know we've got injuries/suspensions but on paper that is probably the worst team we could have picked

Not bothered, seen us put out more exciting quicker teams that did rock all so shall we wait and see....

Actually, everybody's thinking Young is going to start as fullback.

I'd rather see our u-18 side on the pitch than this slow drivel. The entertainment will be non whatsoever. I hope we are 3-0 down at ht so he makes three changes and we win the game 4-3. I don't like complaining before games but this team.... Well well, gotta support them but doubt this will end well

Shaw played miserably on Thursday and had a serious run of games without any outstanding performance.
