    Some big calls need to be made, if Hojlund is fit by then I would start him ahead of Zirkzee.
    Give Bruno hours worth of Paul Scholes footage from 06-08 and tell him to watch these like a hawk.
    The only way we can become a good side with Bruno in the team he has to drop deeper and learn to play that role.

    Great plan. Build on the pure hope that at almost 30 Bruno will change his football instincts. Also good to see that your midfield contains exactly one player that isn't useless defensively.

    Big calls indeed. (pretty discouraging watching United through the last years and also seeing fans seemingly not taking the lessons)

    Amass, a young talented natural LB, Barcelona field a bunch of 16-17 year olds with grandpa Lewa in a pressure cooker environment, where anything less than a league title is considered a disaster.
    At United you can finish 8th or lose 7-0 to Liverpool and get clapped off on top of a bumper new deal.
    Would also get Dalot back to his best position.

    Maguire? Did very little wrong for the past 8-10 months, Martinez has been poor this season, needs to be brought down a peg or two.

    Garnacho and Amad on the wings, 2 players who are not afraid to take on a full back, excellent mentality.
    Rashford looks like 2015 Depay, can’t beat a PL full back to save his life, take him out of his misery and stick him up front, worked for Depay.

    Ugarte? I mean, if the alternative is Casemiro, I would go with McUgarte.
    Bruno next to him in a 4-4-2, yes, why in the world not?
    I mean, what’s the worst that could happen, no one is going to die, relax.
    We haven’t controlled a football match in what feels like a decade playing all sorts of variations of 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

    I genuinely don’t see any other logic behind Bruno’s new lengthy contract other than him dropping deeper in a year or two, they all do it, Scholes did, Kroos did, Modric did it, why not Bruno?
    He would have to learn that role, the patience and the positioning, he would have to to prolong his career.

    And finally, two strikers up top, playing off each other.
    What a horrible thought! Crazy.

    Mainoo hasn’t had a good game since England beat that horrible Dutch side, that was months ago.
    He’s a kid, let him sit on the bench and win his place back, it would do him a world of good.

    Midfield is the most important area of the pitch, and you want to only have 2 players there, and one of them being a false 9 as his normal position. Also last match Maguire played he was terrible, absolutely terrible.
     
    We'll either lose embarrassingly or win narrowly and unconvincingly

    Bounce back ability? the international break and those staying behind for more training might help. Casemiro drops to the bench for Ugarte one obvious change to make and should be a few more. United's last 4 Premier league games against Southampton was 3 draws and 1 win 1-0.

    The season feels over before it's barely begun. Unless INEOS act this morning, what's the point anymore?
     
    They've lost their opening 3 games so it should be an easy win? However if we lose against them it'll crater the CAF and there'll be riots in the streets.

    Either way I'm so numb to it all after today's defeat that I doubt I'll even care if we got another drubbing which is possible with the way we played today.
     
    They are SHIT, but we are a team that struggled with Coventry so why would Southampton not have a chance to beat us
     
    Anything less than five nill score in our favor here is useless.

    Wishful thinking. Casamiro may well not play but ETH will 100% start Bruno and 95% start Rashford.

    If mount is fit he will be in. Hojlund will be bench.

    ETH needs to help himself. Rashford should no longer be starting ahead of garnacho, Diallo is now our best winger and should be a sure thing for the right. Whoever is fit out of zirkzee and hojlund up top. Bruno, mainoo, ugarte, onana pick themselves. Play dalot, de ligt, martinez, mazroui back 4.

    Predict a narrow win for us.

    If he plays maguire, casemiro or rashford from the start then i probably wont watch

    Well they now have a better goal keeper than us.
    Still fancy us to win this though and if we don’t and if Hag is still in charge then I’m going for a very very long walk.

    I remember the run of games last season where we played pretty much everyone in the bottom 6 in a row and won every game narrowly by single goal margin and all the cultists were pointing to the form chart with no context as proof he was a messiah
     
    People thinking Ugarte will play in this obviously didn't hear what the Pep Guardiola is my idol said. He might be on the bench if Collyer or Eriksen aren't fit

    I don't see Ugarte starting until maybe November.

    One grim, marginal improvement this season is that we seem to be conceding a little less decent chances on goal. 10 shots on target in opening 3 games, which felt like standard fare almost every week last year.

    On this match, I cant state how disappointed I am with the start to the season, but am clinging to the minor improvements we've seen. The problem is a lack of goals, but i think if we primarily focus on improving how we play, goals will come and it doesnt matter who gets them. I think De Ligt will be a good signing, Mazraoui and Ugarte too. So i'd stick with what we've been doing but bring ugarte in for casemiro and start de ligt. Diallo obviously should start.

    Was looking forward to international break then realised my country's first game is against England. I'm also half Italian, and they are also shite at the minute.

    I have United, Ireland and Italy - tough times folks!

    It's probably good there's an international break before Southampton. Gives time for things to settle and revaluate things.

    baldy said Ugarte needs time to be worked into the squad and we are now going on a 2 week international break, so don't expect Ugarte starting until maybe November and Amad has already lost his place. Somehow lost his place after being basically the only attacking threat against Brighton
     
    Seem to struggle last 2 seasons with the early Saturday kick off.
    Should have took much.
    Question really is does cas or ugarte start

    I really think hes just going to have to suck it up and play him into fitness. We cant go on as we are.
     
    If Erik is still in charge I cant see us winning this, we cant score goals and Saints will defend in numbers so this has got 0-0 written all over it.

    We need to start Ugarte against Sainst as well instead of Casemiro.
