If you told me Ashley Young would have benched Di Maria at the start of 14/15 season, I would have laughed too. I just have a bad feeling whenever we sign a big name player. Hopefully Varane is more of a Cavani than a Schweinsteiger.
First he took his job. Then he nearly took his life.

Welcome to england you little rat

    From MEN:

    Could Cavani be involved today?

When asked about Edinson Cavani by United's official website, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said everyone in training is fit to play. The veteran striker only returned to training on Friday but could he be involved today?
Solskjaer said: “Yeah, we’re a fully fit squad. Edi as always looks after himself. He’s had a couple of sessions now and he’s looking good.”

= 4-0 win. Management is easy.

    Good times ahead.

It'd be interesting to see if Ole rotates his team particularly in CM, the temptation would naturally suggests to build on from our good start and bring in the likes of Varane and Sancho.

We need to better utilise our squad this season, we can't expect them to deliver when they haven't played for an extended period of time.

    Don’t worry, Varane is brilliant.

I've seen this script way too many times last season. When it came to deep defense we always ended up asking for more creatively in midfield despite having good attacking players lined up.

We saw how the McFred midfield last season would just pass the ball around and fail to initiate the attack against deep blocks, they'd failed to get our talented attackers involved and I don't see that changing this season either.

We should always throw in one of Matic, Pogba or VDB in midfield especially against teams sitting deep.
We may have had good attacking players last season but much of the time there wasn't much creativity amongst them. Other than Bruno, the rest of them tend to be more pure attackers rather than creators. Sancho should change that significantly, and of course Pogba on the left does as well.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely do want a midfielder who provides more on the ball than McTominay in particular does. But they still need to bring the legs and defensive ability as well, and that's something none of our other options do.

I don't think there will be too much rotation at this point in the season when we are only playing one game a week. Once the games start coming thick and fast I do hope we get a decent amount of rotation though.

we are going to win the league

Draw anyone. We have a 33% chance of either result.
I am hopeful of a win. Which would actually be a good result away at Southampton. But it is going to be hard work. These are the games that PL champions need to get 3 points.

I didn't mean to rotate for resting purposes but more around getting the squad match sharpness as like you say we only have 1 game a week until it properly kicks in from Oct onwards so it's important to find that balance to ensure players will be ready when called upon.

It’s unlikely that all 6 goals have assists also - much more often some of the goals are unassisted (like penalties)

Seems very specific. Have you put money on this. You would get very good odds

I don't bet. For what its worth I think gambling adverts should be banned. I get personal choice, but at the same time, its constantly rammed down our throats, easy af to do, and it destroys many peoples lives/their families.

But, Fantasy Football points and that hahaha

I think fans are right to be nervous after the last few seasons. It’s a weird fixture. Wolves away next too…. But I think we finally have the goods to be trashing these kinds of teams if they come at us and if they park the bus there’s enough heart and variety there to dig us out. I’m actually very confident this season. I Stuck a nice lump on us to win the league at 8/1 once it looked very likely Varane was coming in too. Look at our bench today. We are finally seeing some value for money with depth that would be starters at most of our opponents.

Stuck a fiver on at 15/2

Wouldn’t the assist then go to whoever was fouled for the penalty?
No. It could be the penalty taker himself won the penalty, it could be that penalty is missed - so it’s not accounted for as an assist per se. Then, there are direct free kick goals or just individual open play goals

If Utd win the league I’ll be able to travel South America in relative style for a few months without worrying too much about cash :)

Come on you beautiful bastards!:wenger:

If they don’t win or look like winning I’ll have saved most of the money I needed by then anyway. I couldn’t believe they were 8/1. Huge price for the second placed team last year who've added world class options.

Fair enough starting the same team as last week, but Martial?
