Fair enough though isn't it? Lingard has gotten less minutes each game and Ole has shown he's not afraid to drop him if he doesn't perform. Ole will be looking for a reaction when he comes off the bench. Let's just hope one of Pereira / Mata outperform him so Ole can justify not starting Lingard again next game.The bad apples are gone. I can't lie, i feel the same. There is nothing to fear if you are part of the Southampton setup. The one glimmer of hope is they dont have Nathan Redmond.
It shows how thin and lack of quality the attacking options are when Martial goes down. It's between Pereria, Mata, Greenwood and Lingard for two positions. Too early to include Gomes as a selection.That front 6 looks fecking terrible, no way near the standard we should expect. Can't see us creating more than 2-3 chances here.
I'm suggesting this the worst attack we have started in a league game, that isn't an end of season dead rubber, in the Premier League era.

The likes of James, McTominay, Andreas are great options to have in the squad to rotate, but they shouldn’t be anywhere near first choice. It’s nice having young, hungry players, but the lack of quality is embarrassing. Even one more high level player would have made such a difference.
No. He said Lingard has done well in his games, he hasnt. Mata has been just as bad if not worse when hes come on. Both should be dropped. At least Pereira set up a goal with a great cross. And if the youngsters arent given a chance when Mata and Lingard are playing this bad, then theres a problem

Remember that while our team looks average by our standards, their team looks donkey balls!Seems like the type of game Pereira might perform well in. Both Pereira and Mata being in is concerning, but Mata is capable of solid games. Think we'll really see the integration of youth into the team come September with the multiple games a week, til then itll be standard for the most part. Surprised Lingard was even dropped, though id expect him to come on and have an impact.BT have our team wrong surely.
