I don’t know where the United team are staying, but it’s absolute traffic chaos in and around Southampton.

I'm on U-verse with all their Sports Packages and still they don't seem to have it. This is one of the 3 games during the year for which NBC wants to sell us a subscription to NBC Gold for $50. I will try to find a stream, I don't want to be ripped off by NBC.

Will the MUTV app carry the game?

I'm in the same boat. This pretty much ruins my Saturday.

We really should shut them out with our defence, but I'd still be surprised if we ring in the goals again. This game is going to be similar to the Leicester one IMO.

Are Southampton still our bogey team? I always used to feel nervous when playing them, especially away from home.

No such worries this time around, clearly the game will end 4-0 in our favour.

Kick off to be pushed back?
PA’s Simon Peach did the right thing taking the plane to Southampton. Some United supporters might struggle to make kick-off and there is some chatter that the 3pm kick-off time might be pushed back due to the severe congestion on the M3.

A bomb disposal team was at the scene after a ‘potential hazardous material’ was reported and there were miles of cars in the opposite direction after yours truly finally made it onto a sparse M3.

The upside is the weather is beautiful down here and United flew in last night, so they shouldn’t struggle to make kick-off. The days of driving down via coach to Norwich on the day of the game are long gone.

Really hoped for Herrera instead of Fellaini, but I reckon Fellaini might be handy against that brute Romeu.

Can't decide wether to put in Mata or Lingard. Mata has been playing a lot these last two weeks, while Lingard was really good last game.

    ----------De Gea
    Valencia
    --Bailly--Jones--Young
    -------Matic--Fellaini
    Mkhitaryan--Mata--Rashford*
    ----------Lukaku

The most likely starting XI. 4 Mourinho players, 4 Ferguson players, 2 Moyes' players, 1 LvG player (counting Rashford's promotion from the youth setup).

Most likely subs: Martial, Herrera, Lingard (promoted from youth), Blind, Darmian.

    Leaked team news
No real surprise, but Herrera might have thought Pogba’s injury might have opened his own door.

On way to Southampton for United match. Understand Fellaini likely to start over Herrera.

Where are all these leaks coming from again?
Absolute guess. Not difficult to assume Fellaini has more chance of starting. The last couple of leaks have been wrong. "Understand" is his way of taking a guess without having to commit. Win/win for him.

    United planning for 1.30 arrival
United stayed at the Rose Bowl, which is home of Hampshire County Cricket Club, last night. That’s five miles away from St Mary’s, but the route does not involve getting on the M3, so United shouldn’t be too late despite the traffic issues around the area.

In recent seasons, United have arrived belatedly at Tottenham, West Ham and Crystal Palace, with the first two of those games’ kick-off being pushed back. West Ham were more to blame for the delayed kick-off on a febrile night at Upton Park.

One of the 3 times a year not giving NBC an extra $50 sucks for me. Chelsea/Stoke and Manchester City/Crystal Palace televised but, not this game.

They are taking the piss with that schedule, United is by far the most popular team in the US.

if we score first, we will be OK but I reckon we are going to concede our fist PL goal this season. It's a strange place to play that reminds me in a way of Plough Lane. At times there, we were excellent; as often we seemed to have no idea how to cope with the narrowness if the pitch. This and Stoke away a are the games where lots of people just assume good sides come and win but there is something about the place that worries me. This will not be a 4-0 to us, that's for sure. Southampton are better than some of their results would have you believe. Surprised it sin;t a live BR game, to be honest

I understand that both Herrera and Fellaini will start along with Matic..

    Am I doing it right?

I agree, this really is a piece of shite fixture. Will be ecstatic with any kind of win!

Two weeks we won't be on TV. Another 3 p.m kick off next weekend. Although it is Chelsea/City at teatime so we could put real pressure on them both.

LVG handed lingard his debut... How is lingard a Moyes player.

Not playing Herrera would make no sense. Fellaini is a good impact player but generally Herrera is miles ahead. Wish Jose didnt always feel the need to feck with somebody in the squad

Think this game will be similar to Stoke two weeks ago. Just hope for a better result.
