    Maguire can't do that, though. He just hasn't got that ability. He is very, very limited. Like a very low budget cola taste, but at full price.

    Eh? Eriksen isn't a defender. I can imagine Rio dropping a shoulder and skipping away from all 3 of them.

    Obviously, Maguire isn't Rio so DDG should have never put him in that position. The problem is both of them look wobbly and almost scared of one another's decision making.

    Or maybe DDG should have just hoofed it, which was the far easier and less dangerous option.

    yes. Would love to see a screenshot of moment he is receiving the ball, looked to be huge amount of space. That is how you beat the press playing out from the back. It is like people expect there to be 20 yards of space for people receiving the ball. Watch city play out or any team that does this. Occasionally the space is tight and you expect footballers to actually be able to show technical skill.

    Maguire isn't controlling De Gea like he is playing Fifa. Even if he called for the ball, the decision to do so lies with De Gea. De Gea is 100% at fault for deciding the pass.

    Martinez has recieves that he turns and we’re away. The keeper can see that, Maguire asks for the ball the keeper will assume Maguire can also see that.
     
    I've turned it off I can't watch Dumber and Dumber play . I'm hoping for something now off this place..
     
    There’s a reason that as soon as Ten Hag’s feet touched English soil he demanded we fly back over and pick up martinez. He’s just as big a miss as Casemiro.
     
    De gea has put Maguire into trouble but Maguire has called for it off de gea and could have just booted it for a throw/corner once he knew he was in danger. Maguire doesn't have much awareness though of anything going around him most of the time.

    The 1st lack of awareness is from DDG, who has all the whole pitch in front of him and clearly sees what's going on. Maguire should have known as well but it's far less easy to see when you're right in the middle.
     
    It's evident that its Maguire's fault. I am watching it in Italian and the commentator doesn't even mention ddg at all. There again I am not surprised that the British media is blaming it on a Johnny foreigner
     
    "He asked for it" doesn't mean it's a good choice by the keeper. If someone signals you out of a junction do you go without looking? You still assess the fecking conditions. Pea rolling it out to Maguire under that pressure was brainless.

    It's a complete mess up by Harry Maguire as well, no doubting that.

    Both deserve a clip round the ear from ETH.
     
    I’m a massive critic on DDG, but that one isn’t on him. Maguire asks for it (yes DDG doesn’t need to pass) but Maguire is too slow as per usual.

    DDG actually can take some blame for the lack of pace on the ball.
     
    Robbie clearly going mental here about De Gea. Saw the goal again and Maguire clearly calls for the ball but hey blame De Gea for doing it
