Sevilla's weakness is, that they struggle to score goals. Its both down to tactics and individual quality. Its a 433 with a defensive midfielder/destroyer and two central midfielders, that don't contribute a lot in the final third. For Lopetegui control is the most important thing. That puts a lot of responsibility on the wingers and fullbacks to create something. Up top its either de Jong or En-Nesyri (I expect the later to start again). Lets ignore individual quality (both are miles behind someone like Martial), but they are both big guys, who are not going to dribble past players, run in-behind or are able to hold the ball up for a long time. They need service. The problem is, that they are very isolated, because the midfielders usually don't join them. That makes it very easy for defenders to stop them without much risk. Allowing Sevilla to have possession isn't that big of a deal as long as you don't overdo it like Wolves did. They just stopped playing football after 15 minutes, which was a bit silly.
The upside of this approach is, that Sevilla concedes only few goals and are very stable. Additionally, the team knows how to be a bit cnut-ish in terms of fouls, dives and theatrics to disrupt the opposition, if necessary.
Here is roughly the scoring table for all competitions for players, who might start:
Winger: two of
Ocampos - 17 - 3440
Munir - 10 - 1700 (includes 5 goals against Düdelingen)
Suso - 1 - 1000
CFs: one of
En Nesyri - 6 - 1000 (joined the club in January)
de jong - 7 - 2580
central midfielders:
Banega - 3 - 2870
Jordan - 2 - 3060
Vazquez - 6 - 1500 (as sub; doesn't play a major role anymore; he is a bit different in the sense, that he plays a lot closer to the striker, so he might be a sub, if Sevilla need a goal)
Combined Diego Carlos, Kounde and Regulion scored 8. The goals from Banega and Jordan came from set pieces, where Sevilla is very dangerous.
The biggest threat by far is Ocampos (when he starts on the right), because he is able to take on players in 1v1s and is very creative. Stop him and Sevilla is having a hard time to score from open play. Both fullbacks are fast and happy to go forward, but they are also a bit predictable. I don't think that United needs to change their system. The left sided midfielder and winger have help Williams, but thats about it. Don't make silly mistakes and trust your forwards. I was pretty confident, that Sevilla would advance against Wolves, but this game is imo mostly decided by United. If you turn up in good form, you'll win because you have much more quality up front and Sevilla is a very good match-up for your normal tactics. You'll get in trouble, if make too many individual mistakes and get nervous, but thats always going to be the case regardless of line-up/approach.
