    May have been but it was Mata who decided to pass it across the pitch on the ground instead of putting a cross in. We have Lukaku, Pogba, Matic, Smalling, McTommney in there. All tall players yet Mata decided to pass to Valencia who lost it promptly.
     
    We are supposed to be taking the game to Sevilla not holding on for dear life ffs. What is this? How are we going to get through if we can't score? 0-0 is a shite result so we better have some answers in the second half because that was a complete shitshow.

    Quoting myself here. Any gameplay dependent on Smalling and Lindelof keeping a clean sheet is doomed to fail.

    Can we not add an extra midfielder? I say this because we can't seem to battle in the midfield areas.
    They are breezing past our midfielders like they are not there and our defenders are then forced into action.
     
    Martial for Mata.. Wishing Carrick was available for this, would've subbed him on for sure. If nothing changes, rashford on for Lukaku and use rash, martial and sanchez front 3.
     
    LvG and Jose have just completely sucked all joy out of watching United. It's just a case of praying for the 90 mins to get over these days.

    Lukaku isn't given much to do, but has done decent
    Since Herrera went off we lost the midfield battle and the game changed

    Ddg is the only reason we aren't behind

    For all the praise our defence gets it's just not good at all
     
    Holy fu** we're boring to watch. I can accept that we're playing safe and waiting for the counter attack chances. But for fecks sake we have to at least try to take the chances when they present themselves then. Now we're not trying to do anything except give the ball back to Sevilla. Valencia and Smalling have been terrifying to watch. Pogs not impressing anyone...Don't even think subs are gonna help, this is down to tactics and mentality...

    Yep. That's right. We made 2nd round of the Champions League by being not very good at football.
     
    It's knock-out stages of the CL, it was never supposed to be easy. Feel we should use our midfield a bit more in our build-up though, Lukaku alone up there won't produce much.

    The sad thing is we say this atleast once a month.
     
    Watching Spurs, PSG, Liverpool, Bayern, Barca then watching us is so depressing :lol: we seem a million miles away.

    This is how Mourinho sets up in every game... Why would this be any different.
    We played Huddersfield at the weekend, had less possession, less shots and less on target.

    Doesn't really matter the opposition
     
    Also for all the shit he gets and being dropped, Pogba is literally our only player who tries to keep the ball. The others crumble under slight pressure.
     
    Not great, but fairly comfortable until the last couple of mins when it got ragged.

    If Lukaku puts that great chances away it's an away goal banked and a different complexion on the tie.

    Too much emphasis on Sanchez creating magic from nowhere, or Lukaku getting onto a punt for my liking!
     
    I am getting fed up with Jose and its not a reaction to just this match but we have been going downhill for some time. With these players we should be playing a lot better. It looks like that they have never played together and just seeing each other on the pitch for the first time.
     
    Whilst we've been shit....remember alot of our away performances under SAF...we got overun consistently
     
    One of worst performances I’ve seen...from the cnut who is co commentating on Bein Sports! Had to mute...but football from us going forward is laughably bad.
     
    So, what the feck is our plan Jose? Soak up pressure, rely on DDG to make multiple world-class saves, and pray to nick a goal from a hoofball to Lukaku?

    I’ve got to say something is seriously wrong somewhere when this bunch of players look THIS bad

    I’ve panned some of them for being mediocre but they are better than they are showing here
     
    We´re a god awful football team. For large parts of the season we were at least solid at the back, but even that seems to be gone now with so many defensive mistakes.

    At the moment there´s basically nothing good about the team. We don´t know how to build up a proper attack (not that we can string more than 2 passes together anyway), never seem to be in control of possession and just sit back letting the opponent do their thing.

    If there´s no moment of genius from one of our guys upfront i don´t see how we are supposed to get anything from this game.
     
    Shitshow so far. Really can't see where we are heading with Jose, how are we supposed to be amazing in a few months if we look like that after 1,5 years?
    We just added Sanchez and the impact is barely there, more spending won't solve our issues.

    The worrying thing is that we have seen this plenty of times this season, where the players seem unable to make 5 metre passes to one another. Are these guys even turning up to training?
     
    Once again we haven't really shown up. Very poor so far and we have to be thankful for De Gea again. Seriously need a wake up call at half time.

    It is true that we have seen this type of performance under 3 different managers.

    But Jose has Pogba, Sanchez, Martial, Mata and Lukaku. Surely we can expect some decent football from this lot? Manager deserves some blame here.
