People questioning why Lingard is starting should remember this is a final...
I don't get all the hate for Lingard?
Had a good pre-season yet people still don't like to see him on the team sheet?
Except for the 38 big games we have in the league, yeah.Big game player.
It's a great midfield, on paper. So naturally they'll end up looking like they only met each other in the tunnel.
Lingard has been the best in preseason in terms of overall play in posession except in final third.
So for an advanced player - the most important bit?
In a 38 game season there is plenty of times the league is won and lost. West Ham on Sunday isn't the league final moreover there's no reason we can't win both.If we beat West ham won the league by two points will any Utd fan look back on this game and say I wish we would have won the super cup instead ?
There's no way this game is more important than the league .

It's ridiculous and always over the top. Personally I would have liked to see Martial or Rashford take his place, but Jose likes him and he's still a good player. It's like posters here are bipolar.I don't get all the hate for Lingard?

Cant wait when Lingard scores.

Big game player.
Maybe players have been selected based on their stamina in the heat of Macedonia.
So if we put Rashford over there we become world beaters??FECK OFF Lingard seeing his name in the starting 11 just boils my blood. Shows how mediocre we are.

It is really puzzling to me how Lingard is still a starter for our team.
We had the same arguments about Cleverley and Gibson, and there were people saying even they were good squad players then. I guess some United fans are happy to accept mediocrity.Lingard is the modern day Cleverley and Gibson.
3 years from now he'll be playing for some mid-table team and we'll all be wondering quite how he ever managed to make it here.
So, are they playing 4-3-1-2, with Bale on the front left?
