Wow, that is pretty weird. always thought that was standard.Will be very surprised if we win this.I still don't know why we're trying to make a player who has 36 goals in 191 appearances for Madrid become a striker for us yet we're putting the player with 224 goals in 459 appearances in midfield.I would appreciate a river, thanks.
Yeah I image that's the reasoning but the way we play having pace upfront isn't a massive concern.If that was the case then play Wilson and Rooney up front. Also I'm still not massively positive about the whole Rooney in midfield stuff.

To be honest I find that kind of attitude bizarre. Firstly, you make it sound like everything is fine and we’re winning games despite playing shite. I could understand that during our (a little bit lucky) winning streak when we used the 3-5-2, but we’re not in great shape right now.

Seems he's already lost the majority of RedCafe, with people acting like Rooney's never played in midfield before. He has under Fergie, Moyes and now van Gaal. Jesus christ.Even my usual river is down.Di Maria to score today.LVG trying to be clever.

No he's a goalscorer who just so happens to play in midfield.
He contributes very little bar one or two passes a game in central midfield. All he does is pass the ball backwards and sidewards and the odd Hollywood ball. He slows down play way too often too. He's a great and versatile player and this is probably one of the reasons why LvG plays him in midfield but he's just average there. It's blatant he isn't a midfielder, fair play, he does score goals but he offers little to nothing in midfield apart from that.
I've got a novel idea. How about playing a midfielder in midfield?

Its not the accent, he's just an idiot. I walked through the mall beside him once. I was going to slag him off for being an idiot but he was with his son so I restrained. I probably looked like an idiot too trying to keep in my laughter.The complete lack of width is my biggest concern looking at the starting XI and its something we'll need to address in the near future. Including the subs, only 2 naturally wide players (3 if you count Di Maria). This could easily go a similar way to the Southampton game.

I think Wilson just isnt quite ready to play all the time in the pl so we're making do with di maria up front. Wilson is getting bested by physical play
