The real issue is that every single pass Di Maria wants to make he has to look up and see where his teammates are and actually that is not just him. Just look at some of them going forward, then all of a sudden controlling the ball with 2-3 little touches and then the opportunity has passed and they have to start over by passing backwards or sideways.

I'm getting sick of these excuses for Di Maria. He looked better against Burnley and has has a few moments today, but he is still far too wasteful with his passing. We can't blame everything on Falcao and Rooney.

Currently playing with a deep backline with the midfield sitting in front and doubling up and Davies also back in midfield to bully. Very difficult to play against, it's all well and good to say our attackers aren't making runs but it's very difficult when:

A. They have so many back deep that the angles just aren't there.
B. They are playing so deep there just isn't the space to play the pass into.

Someone has come out and used this excuse for almost every game against lower half prem and below. Its an excuse.

Not every game against lower sides should be a huge battle, we should be able to take the game to these teams occasionally and show we're fecking Manchester united
