Less concerned with this game than the Arsenal game on Sunday

Hope some youngsters get a run out and it goes towards getting some minutes against the Arse.

    Delighted Pogbas getting a rest

if we nick the first goal, the tie gets interesting.

Not expecting much, be good to see us be competitive despite so many missing.

Go out and play some football, who knows.
Exactly my thoughts. If United get a goal early, they will feel some pressure. It's not as done and dusted for PSG as people would have you believe.

Whatever happens Ole will do what is right and go for them trying to score goals. This alone is such a good feeling to look forward to.

Don't think we'll go with a back 3 at all. PSG will likely dominate the midfield meaning we'd end up with Rashford and Lukaku massively isolated. A back 4 allows us to spread the pitch wide with our wingers and try to counter effectively.

PSG have had a few ‘bottles’ in the past few years in the CL. If our current side weren’t so CL-green themselves I’d have given us a wee bit of backing to do them in their own backyard.

    Shame, really.

Nice picture of Gomes with his dad at the airport

Greenwood to outshine Mbappe and claim MOTM. Come on United!

I like it . I’m going to be positive about this match.
It is possible we can do it and it we don’t no big deal as long as we dont pick up more injuries for the Arsenal game.

So what odds for goals from Rashford , Lukaku, Greenwood and Fred. ? 1-4

    The answer is 1995.
Best part is we're not even talking about a final. We're fact checking to confirm that 1995 was the furthest this team has gone in the competition...and it was a SEMI.

We've all loved the "lads, it's Tottenham" team talk before. In the press, be respectful. But in the dressing room and amongst the fans why on Earth would you just give in to losing the tie. That's the point I'm making so let's get back to it.

Have they buckled at home before though?
I'd love to see it happen . Folks were wary of our record at Stamford Bridge .Loved how that turned out . Wishing the same here.

Apart from that it's barely relevant because the players that we are going to field barely have CL experience while PSG will have CL winners and multiple finalists. Which in theory put PSG in a better position if we are using the experience and in particular the players history as an argument. And I probably need to say that none of it will guarantee PSG's victory, iirc prior to last season Roma only had one C1 semi final appearance.

What's the actual point of this mate? Fellow United fan has come on and tried to get mood up and pump up the cafe. I'd have done the same even if PSG had won the last five CLs.

At least it sounds like Ole's trying to motivate the team instead of coming up with excuses ahead of the game for us losing .

Nothing to lose here let's go and put on a good performance and see what happens. Dream scenario is one of the youth players stepping up big time and surprising them.

I wonder if Ole will try playing Shaw as a LCB if we play a back 3 and go with Dalot and Young as Wing Backs. Shaw has shown himself to be very solid defensively and he's the only one who can at least try to match Mbappe at pace. If Cavani is missing, they lack a real physical presence up front so him not being a defensive giant wouldn't be an issue. He's also decent on the ball so would help in playing out from the back, if we so wish.

Let yourself be silly for a minute and imagine we turned it around with this squad. 99 final aside, I’d say it would be our best ever cl comeback.but that’s all my heart talking unfortunately

Nine out of the twenty Englishmen, how many will start ? 4 probably

As good an example of a 'nothing to lose' game as we're likely to get. Even a hammering would be largely irrelevant. The home result was a real kick in the teeth but we've reacted so well since then, I don't feel any result in Paris is going to dent our self-esteem or sense of purpose for the last couple of months of the season. Literally zero point in sitting back, keeping it tight. I'm sure the whole game plan will revolve around creating chances. Looking forward to it.

    Something like this I reckon.

We can do this and turn it around! Press them high to start with to get an early goal. Once we gets it then they might feel some nerves and we could get a second goal later in the game.

Honestly the squad is just too thin on quality and full of players who haven't even played together consistently. Just looking for some decent individual performances to build on for the rest of the season

The negativity surrounding this game is pathetic. So what if we have a shite chance of progressing, doesn't mean we cant enjoy the game. Were playing the French equivalent of City, with a depleted squad, in a tournament that we were never expected to win anyway. Just have a beer, cheer the team on, enjoy the game and then move on to facing Arsenal in a game that actually matters. Stop the moaning

    That squad.

It is actually crazy how short we now are in attack. It’s almost a relief that this tie is pretty much over.

I’d expect the same team from Saturday with Dalot for Alexis and Fred for Pogba. Can’t see it being anything else.

It's nice to be positive but I think we'll lose this quite comfortably. I'm fine with that tbh. We were never going to win the CL this year.

Yeah, it'd be gutting going into this with a lead and our current missing players.

I thought the same today. If we had won the first game 2-1 or something I'd be scared of going into the second game right now. As things stand I am going into it without any expectations whatsoever.

    We can't. Nobody ever has.

Can't see anything but a PSG win, I hope Ole rests Lindelof and Shaw, both could do with it IMO. I'd go 5-3-2.

We might be huge underdogs going into this one, but why would we set up in a defensive line up when we need to score 3 goals? I'm not ready to roll over despite 10 first team players being unavailable for this one. For me, the only possible line up is an attacking one, and without Pogba, even a 3 man midfield is too defensive. So it's a 4-4-2 for me...

    -----------------------De Gea--------------------
    Dalot--------Smalling-------Lindeloff------Shaw
    Young------McTominay---Perriera-------Chong
    -----------Lukaku---------Rashford-------------

Subs: Romero, Bailley, Fred, Gomes, Greenwood, Garner and ??? I think this is all that we have available. So short one sub. So it would have to be another reserve player...

We need to keep our expectations in check for this one. A midfield three consisting of Fred, Periera and Mctominay cannot be expected to compete with the likes of Marquinhos, Verrati and Draxler.

It will be a good experience for our players either way.

Marcos Rojo is available for the bench and pretty sure will be there. Also clearly Fred will start

You want to deploy in a flat 442 against one of the strongest midfield setups in Europe?

    They will absolutely steamroll us.

Forgot about Rojo. I was looking through our squad trying to figure out who we would have and must have missed him. And the reason I didn't include Fred was because I really think we need to go with a 4-4-2 if we have any chance of winning this. And without Pogba, a 4-3-3 is just too defensive for us. However, if we do go 4-3-3 (which we probably will) then Pogba is definitely in with Chong on the bench...

    well said.

Our only chance of winning this is good defence. With good defence, we can score a lucky goal, and then it's a game of nerves. But we won't have good defence with 2 midfielders, impossible - so we need at least three. Hence Fred starts (and he has a birthday today, so another reason to start him tomorrow)

At this point I would rest McTominay as well...have him be properly ready to get stuck in at at the emirates. Put Bailly back in to deal with Mbappe's trickery and physicality, PSG also won't bombard us with crosses.

Play as many of the kids as possible and.....we go for it! *LVG voice*

CWC in 84 against Barca. I'll take that again.

If Pogba didn't get sent off it would of been great for the 2nd leg, however we do seem to be a better away team generally though. If it's 1-0 United at half time I think PSG will start to panic! we have a chance as small as it may realistically seem.
