Only just read that Northampton are coming into this game on a 31 game unbeaten run.

    If we're not at it...

The run came to an end this weekend just gone. They lost 3-1.

But having won League One last season and putting together such a good run, I never expect this to be easy. We will do very well to beat them in normal time. I expect it to be a painful watch.

They lost 3-1 to Chesterfield away last weekend. Before that they lost 3-0 to Wycombe at home in the EFL trophy (not the League Cup) on the 30th of August.

But yeah, before that their last loss was a 3-0 loss to MK Dons back in the FA Cup 3rd round last season. They've had 3 losses in 9 months and we've had 3 losses in 10 days

Yeah, these are the worst. Aside from watching two of your rivals and not knowing who to root for...

After the last week we need to win this game. We can't going into the game against Leicester on the back of 4 straight defeats.

Hard to guess this one, because:

    1) Jose may want to play his fringe players

    2) It's a time to experiment and play a team he feels will do well in the EPL.

Jose still doesn't know his best team. The team that will give him the most balance.

Our midfield balance is still not there, in my opinion. We need to find a way of getting the best out of Pogba, whether that be in a 2 or 3 man midfield.

Our back four is fine, in my opinion. Full backs pick themselves, then to me, I'd use Smalling/Bailly with Blind.

The attack isn't balanced at all to me. Are we going with false wingers, or wingers who will hug the touchline and run in behind? Or maybe one of either, like Van Gaal did with Martial and Mata.

Are we going with a target man up top like Ibra, or someone like Rashford who will allow us to stretch teams?

There's loads that Jose needs to sort out before the Leicester game, and this is why I'm kind of hoping he doesn't rotate the team too much.

So far, he's changed between a 4231 and 433 system. Sunday against Watford, he started with a 433, then changed to a 4231.

We need to find a system, the right balance of players and stick with them. Once we've done that, then we can slowly start to rotate our players.

C'mon guys, have some faith! We'll win this easy. Jose will sort things out. 3-0 victory to United.

1-0 win in extra time, sloppy scrappy performance, lots of disappointments, starting with the line up, fully expect players like Rojo, Rooney possibly Lingard start.

They will come close many times and we will be very very worried up until the 115th min when their legs have gone and we will score a deflected shot thats clearly going wide and a defensive error from Northampton.

Either this or a humiliating 2-0 loss. Bullied by scrappy League one players in our box, random wonder strike from random player X who wont score for the rest of the season, we will struggle to break them down and ultimately have nothing going forwards before huffing and puffing to the loss. Pressure mounts on Jose once more, more leaks, more ruffled feathers, Jose loses to Liecester as the players are exhausted, the fans turn. Hes sacked within 3 months of his reign.

Tough one indeed and I agree with our midfield situation. On the front line, I think Jose has a clear idea of how he wants to play -false wingers with a target man and a 10. Unfortunately the 3 behind the target man have been poor of late which puts us in a tough situation but I think we'll still play like that till these players find some bit of form.

With our front line, if Jose does want to play with a target man in a 4231, then he needs to think about who he plays as number 10. Currently it's Rooney, but Rooney's not one to run in behind, so he doesn't really compliment Ibra, in that respect.

Ideally, we'd need someone like Mkhitaryan or maybe even Lingard for that.

What is the deal with this car park thing? Bizarre
They just had a stretch in an open place after getting off the bus, hardly anything strange. The press are just making it out to be something odd.

Maybe this car park is what we need to turn it around.

Because it is easier to turn around with a car.

Aye, I learned all my manoeuvres in a Tesco car park.

edit - seeing that typed out looks like I engage in suspicious car park activities. :nervous:

The won League 2 last season and are currently sitting in 11th place in League 1.

I know that everybody on the caf is pessimistic right now but you guys are probably going to destroy them with ease.

Nonetheless, it's not much worth celebrating. Even if we win 8-0, it won't feel like we turned things around.

Yes, League Two. That's what I meant.

I'd rather play Arsenal than an in form League One club away. Away fixtures against lesser opposition are always tough. Especially when you're Manchester United who everyone still wants to beat.

We have a dodgy record against league 1 sides post Fergie .

We usually play abysmally and sometimes even lose.I doubt we will thrash them.

What's the car park story? Surely they could've found a room in a leisure centre to rent out? Or even a fecking school sports hall.

Is 2 wins, 5 draws, and 1 loss really in form?

2 defeats from 33 games is the sign of a good team. They're used to winning and won a title together.

The place will be buzzing and they should be smelling blood. They won't get a better chance to record a historic win against Manchester United. I'm not looking forward to the game and would still be doubtful of a good performance if we were in better form. We've seen us struggle in these type of games under Fergie.

I made a bet on Northampton, usually we win if i bet against United. So come on, how despearate i am.

I wouldn't. I imagine our record again league 2 teams is properly better than against champions league quality sides.
