Nice statement there from Carrick. He's proven himself tonight. The question is if he can play on a midfield two.

Carrick seems to be hinting at that leak, certainly doesn't approve.

Bit odd because I always assumed he and Rooney were thick as thieves.

Carrick hinting that players need to calm down about not playing regularly

Even though Carrick is past it, it shows how important having an actual ball playing midfielder is . Who knows when to play it short, or play it long, or wait right moment for a throughball

Sit him as a DM behind any two of Pogba/Herrera/Fellaini and let them feck shit up.
Supposing Ibrahimović, Rashford and Martial shouldn't be dropped… Would you happily keep Mkhitaryan out on the long run?

Meh, we've a big squad, and they'll all get minutes, but if it's working, yeah I would, despite him looking brilliant every time he's played bar the City game.
I understand your point and I do like Carrick's influence. But the problem is that a player like Mkhitaryan needs playing time to adapt, and he won't if he keeps being left out.

Good to see Carrick getting some minutes. We always look a better side defensively with him in the team.

Herrera was very good today and on merit, he should start on Saturday, but let's see. His general urgency when he gets the ball is so refreshing to see. Hopefully he will also rub off on Pogba who has looked a little pedestrian over the last 2 games.

    Rooney was Rooney. Enuf said.

No one else really stood out today except Rojo - who really looked poor. His headed clearance for the Northampton penalty was just abysmal. Fosu Mensah also messed that one (and a few more up).

All in all. Some good minutes for squad players. And hopefully a couple are knocking on the first XI now.

This is true, but we need to do what's best for United, not what's best for Mkhi.

That said, Martial and Rashford probably need to be rotated more, we don't want burnout. Mkhi can play either side, at 10, or as a CM. There should(hopefully) be the world of opportunities for him to fit in.

Well, I hope he at least gets an opportunity to do so along with a couple of others vs Leicester
I'm sure he'll play ahainst Leicester but for me he should drop to the bench carrick keeps his place along with Schneiderlin and pogba should come in.
Or the popular choice carrick holding herrera Schneiderlin with pog at no10.
Rashford has surely made Jose consider him

 Thank feck somebody else listened to that.

"Playing right wing is affecting his performances." Good grief.
 The other guy also said it was a strong committed performance or some shit.

    Quite bizarre.

They must believe every fan is as stupid as they are keep coming out with shite like that.

Good way for Carrick to shut up those claiming to be our fans on here earlier that had him all but strung him up based on rumours.

Carrick seems to be hinting at that leak, certainly doesn't approve.

Bit odd because I always assumed he and Rooney were thick as thieves.

Lots of people have implicated him, based on absolutely nothing. Wonder what sections of our fans are on at times!

Mkhitaryan should play alongside them, as part of a midfield 3 as the most advanced player. That way he can get on the ball in central positions and show his creativity and dribbling through the middle

Why should Martial not be dropped? He hasn't earned a full starting position so far. Rashford should be strating regular between Zlatan and Martial with Mkhitaryan on the right.

I said that in another thread, and someone said no, as in it wouldn't work. It think it's our way forward until we get a proper midfielder to play two men.
