Whatever about the shambolic defending, but we just look clueless in attack. There's no cohesion whatsoever, we're being comprehensively shut out by a fecking league one team.

Rashford will come on for TFM, and Young will go to right back.

Can't believe I'm sitting here thinking that Jose is already looking like an extension of LvG even quicker than he looked like an extension of Moyes.

Rooney just gifting the ball away before the counter attack..

No one manages to get the ball from a League One team and some were/are really thinking we would be contenders this year.

I dont think people are saying he is a good player.
What they do is say that he is large individual. Almost as if they think that the larger the human being, the better he will be at football.

You are right though, he is young and is definitely not a 1st team player.
We are too good at wanting to rush kids in and then writing them off. Also as you say, if they are a big unit they must be good.

What does the bit in bold mean?

Tfm has had 0 match practice for a while thanks. To mourinhos policy. Lets. Cut him some slack.

To what policy? Not being good enough therefore not starting policy?

People just need to stop with that silly putting him in their fecking lineups in RB/CB/CDM respectively because he's still a kid and nowhere near starting XI, as proving now against a League 1 team.

Not sure why we started Morgan and Carrick seems like overkill. Morgan has been getting forward, but he's largely useless offensively.

Our attacking players have been non-existent. If Rooney up front is a last ditch attempt to find him a position, then he should be as good as done.

So are we unanimous on Rooney now?

I can't see anyone needing more proof of his complete decline after that.

What was incredible is every single defender fecked up for that goal. They all had a go.

If Young is still playing as a forward in the second everyone needs to keep their eyes on him whenever we have the ball in their half. He genuinely looks like he's deliberately hiding all of the fecking time. Like he's handcuffed to their centreback.

I don't think we've been too bad offensively actually. We've created a few good chances and look like we can get in behind them. I'm more worried about when we lose the ball and they seem to just waltz down the pitch towards our goal

The sad truth is we all know if City, Liverpool or Arsenal had rocked up here at Northampton, they would be up by atleast 4 goals.

Never thought I'd say this against a team like them but I'd actually take the 1-1 draw just to end our run of defeats. A draw in there ends that Mourinho record even if we went out in ET.

    Positives:
    - People will stop criticising Jose for not playing TFM at right-back
    - It looks like we're finally approaching the end of the Blind at CB experiment
    - It looks like we're finally approaching the end of the Rojo as a future Manchester United defender experiment
    - Rooney out Rooneying himself

Blind wasn't at fault there Infact he has played well... TFM was at fault for that for letting the player just take it

According to Sky Sports... United have controlled more a less every stage of this half, but a mixture of inept finishing and lackadaisical defending has put Northampton right in this game. Isn't this the story of the last three games?

I'm starting to think fitness level are an issue. Another problem here is we have no dribbling player aside from Depay. We also lack the pace upfront and from the wings. Oh and the defence is terrible. Aside from that, not bad.

They are average but we're playing much better. Better passing and movement. Carrick makes such a difference and we need a replacement for him. Defence looks a bit weak. Rooney with another mediocre performance so far.

We were cruising and then went to sleep. Inexcusable. At the end of the half they found it easy to get at our full backs. Their positioning has been atrocious.

We have had more than enough good possession to win this, we're blunt up top though. Rooney's been as sharp as a noodle. Embarrassing.
