    This is matchday thread about this game, so what is the point of posts about general season? So yeah, usual agenda.
     
    Commentary is unbearable. They’re had one chance which was a hit and hope. Anyone would think they’re been all over us.

    I'm tired of people complaining about commentators just calling a hanger. They have said United played will when they were playing well and vice versa.

    Do you want MUTV commentators as i certainly don't?

    I think he's come short as much as you'd want from your striker. The issue is that when he does, he usually does the 'correct' thing and that's lay it off back for something progressive and then he won't see that ball back in the same sequence 9/10. There's no point him trying to turn with the ball and dribble from 30-40 yards out.
     
    The biggest crime Rashford committed over his nightclub sickie indiscretion is that we have to watch bloody Antony.
     
    Antony has been poor, Garnacho needs to make the right decisions. Hojlund will be furious as he has made all the right moves but had no service whatsoever.
     
    Doing the job at the moment, we are largely in control at the moment and got in front. Their goal is really frustrating to concede, it’s an absolute stunner but we haven’t really done much wrong defensively. We have however not taken our chances to put them away. Ultimately I do feel that we will see this one out though.

    You have to be completely blind to think that in this match. He has taken great positions but Garnacho and Antony have been extremely selfish and bad.
     
    Antony cannot skin a league 2 full back, can't create anything against a side like this, what hope do we have he can affect games against top level sides?!
     
    Our wingers need to remember what their job is, get your head up and play it into the striker ffs

    He really has been frustratingly brainless when there were easy pass options available.
     
    Seems like Ten Hag has explicitly instructed our wide players/fullbacks to not cross the ball at all. What’s the point of playing Hojlund in that case? He doesn’t seem like a striker who can come deep and get involved.
     
    If Garnacho isn't comfortable passing with his left foot and Antony isn't comfortable passing with his right foot there has to be a solution.

    His holdup play is non existant. Especially if the ball is in the air.

    Some people are absolute fannies.
     
    This club is unrecognisabl.Even against a lowly opponent, we can’t score more goals and concede goals. Selfish wingers who refuse to pass to striker. We would be 4 or 5 up for these wingers. Why can’t we have old fashion winger like Giggs or Beckham who tries to find striker.

    He’s been actively ignored a few times across the box for very easy passes, but he doesn’t seem ready to lead the line. He’s not as strong as you’d expect for his frame and his balance/first touch is nothing noteworthy.

    He looked good against Spurs when he was tasked with running the channels and giving him space to operate. Think that’s how we have to utilise him to get any real joy from him really

    somebody needs to compile the ways he described the goal. as good a goal as youll see anywhere in the world :lol: even at half time, a thunderbolt. shearer calling it 'a piece of brillance.' richards says 'absolute quality.' it took a truly rotten deflection
     
    We look so disjointed. We’re creating chances because we’re playing a league two team, but just like the Wigan game it’s a scrappy watch.
     


    Can see how bad United are even in this match. So little of the game is played camped in Newport’s defensive third. Somehow playing a L2 side and basically attacking on the counter even against a side of this level.

    I’m glad we scored two early goals, as that has really masked another mediocre half of football.

    He's always been a useless target man, he's a poacher. He's been doing good runs so far, but not getting passes.
     
    In fairness, it's a David vs Goliath in the 4th round of the FA Cup. It's their job to play that up. I'd expect nothing else. Fair's fair.

    And they should be patronising them “being kind” because of that? Give over. The BBC want a giant-killing. It makes great TV. Romance of the Fa Cup.
     
    All you can really say about Garnacho and Antony is that neither is as poor as Rashford in the final third. Which says nothing much.
