    Do think it would have been wise for Maguire to drop out for a week or two. Van De Beek not playing despite Pogba being dropped is odd.

    I really don't think we can be much worse. He's started the season poorly and it may be a case of shaking off the covid, I dunno, but I think it's time to try a different midfield for a game or two and get us back on track.
     
    No one is expecting Ole to play VDB wide left. What they are expecting is that Ole and his staff have the tactical acumen and flexibility to work with alternative formations to accommodate the strongest possible team at his disposal! How people cannot see that is beyond me. You're not locked into one formation.
     
    James and Mata as our starting wingers. How the feck did we land up here? And I have more confidence in Mata out of the pair of them.
     
    Can people calm down with VDB? Ole's training the team, if he's not playing it means that the coaching team does not think he's ready yet or doesn't fit today.

    Fred and McT are probably playing to protect the defense which has been shit and between Bruno and VDB, the choice is easy.

    Do people really think that he wouldn't play him if he thought that he would help us win?

    That's the best team he could put taking into consideration that Telles trained one day, Cavani, Martial and Greenwood aren't available, and Pogba being shit combined with his flirting with Madrid.
     
    We've got PSG in 3 days. Then Chelsea, RB Leipzig and Arsenal. I'm expecting to see some squad rotation.
     
    All Newcastle has to do is sit back and counter and they win. With two double pivot and that front four, it is hard to see us breaking down a team that will park the bus.

    only way I see is scoring is through set pieces or counter attack

    He's a very good player at linking up with others he'd have been significantly better if you're playing Mata. McTominay has been poor for some time so not sure how you justify it to the player unless there's a knock.

    I hope Greenwood is actually injured because this would be criminal not to start him up top otherwise. At least Ole didn't include Lingard on the bench.
     
    I think he’s playing for a draw which wouldn’t be the worst result for him, a defeat would be very costly

    You expected Ole to completely change our formation with 2 days of training?
     
    Happy, I got 11/11 for the lineup. Delighted with that.

    I knew picking the lineup high off my tits on acid would help.
     
    Most would have preferred Pellestri and Telles but have to trust Ole if he thinks they aren't ready.
