Must win IMHO. Liverpool will probably tonk Burnley.

No "probably" about it - very unlikely Burnley can do a Chelsea with Liverpool, the cnuts simply aren't dropping points at all.

One by one the strange things LVG was consistently doing with the starting line-up in the first half of the season are disappearing. Took a long time to kill off 352 but that seems to be gone now. Herrera finally seems to be heading towards being a regular starter, thankfully. Smalling and Rojo are close to looking like a first-choice CB partnership, as they deserve to be.

Hopefully Rooney will soon be back to playing exclusively as a #9 or #10 again, and Shaw can stay fit for the rest of the season and get settled as our first-choice LB.

    Today, hopefully:

    DDG
    Valencia Smalling Rojo Shaw
    Blind
    Herrera AdM
    Januzaj---------------Young
    Rooney
Would be very happy with that, although wonder if we will play Fellaini for physicality.

This is certainly a must-win game. I can't see Arsenal and Liverpool dropping points so we really need to win this game badly, but with our terrible away record, I reckon we will draw 1-1 or 2-2. Our next 7 games are all against the top 7 teams too.

They picked up points away to City and Chelsea, should have got something against us... It's not impossible you know. Liverpool is in great form but their home record isn't anything special.

Lets hope you're right - I just don't see any chance when Liverpool have this sort of momentum.

So... United's Facebook tells me that Andy Cole scored his 5 against Ipswich 20 years ago today... would be grand if we could have someone like him in his prime playing up front for us tonight... he loved a goal against Newcastle that lad.

Instead, we'll get Falcao... oh joy.

Hoping Mata gets a rare start but not holding my breath.

Maybe tonight he'll finally "find his feet" as people have been saying and be transmogrified into Randrewmel Falcole.

    Or not.

I'm confused. Jones is replacing a right footed defender so nothing changes?
I feel like half the people on here don't know that Evans is right footed... It's weird, they keep banging on about the same thing but Rojo is the only left footed center back we have. And Blackett but he's a reserve.

Seems Shaw is not "fit" for the game then, Smalling and Jones, not bad. Januzaj starts ahead of Di Maria. Steve Bates has spoken lads.

I wonder if Jones in for Evans means Rojo doesn't start or Shaw is rested again...

Hehe, it's the same every week with people thinking Evans is left footed. Anywho, didn't think he'd actually drop Di Maria for Januzaj. Hope he can continue where he left off last game.

I have always classed Evans as two footed, his right is stronger but his ability with his left is good enough for him to play LCB and use it whenever he needs.

    de Gea

    Valencia
    Smalling
    Evans
    Rojo

    Blind
    Herrera
    Fellaini

    Young
    Rooney
    Di Maria

SUBS: Lindegaard, Jones, McNair, Carrick, Mata, Januzaj, Falcao.

442, I reckon. Fellaini back to striker duty, yawn.

Feck, Mata still on the bench :( Both Jones and Januzaj on the bench too.

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Evans Rojo
    Herrera Blind
    Di Maria Fellaini Young
    Rooney
Mata the only thing missing from it really. Good lineup though. Falcao is done.

People have probably seen Evans pass with his right foot and come to the conclusion that that can't possibly be his natural foot, therefor he must be left footed :).
