    He never said he didn't rate or like him. Just that he's not a phenomenal player who is more easily replaced than someone like a Pogba.

    Says it all about Neville and the class of 92 doesn't it? Putting themselves and their mate over what's best for the club. Solksjaer could relegate us and they'd still all say it's the players fault.

    Almost like he thinks a managers has no influence over a team... but he knows from Valencia just how how much damage an incompetent manager can do.

    Neither, actually. He’s past his prime and indicative of the state of the squad at Ole’s disposal. My point was the number of players in today’s squad in their prime is worrying.
     
    Hard to call because I think it will be one-sided but can't decide which way. given how shite we are away, I'm going to say 3-0 to Newcastle with their first being a total defensive feck-up early on

    Not just me, I’m afraid. But I have been following Man Utd for over 25 years, so I’ve seen enough to be able to judge whether a certain player (aka Matic, Mata or Lingard) is shit and doesn’t even deserve a professional contract, let alone a starting spot.

    There is one more player of this “calibre” in the squad - Jones - but he no longer plays or makes the squad even, so perhaps we may disregard him.

Asked about who he takes inspiration from, mentioned Messi but said the guy he's seen more is Hazard, and raved about him which was fine. He gave mentions to Giggs and a goal from Becks... and then added the name Jesse Lingard...

    Our squad is paper think and getting thinner , the squad for the game today is maybe one of the worst I can remember, but Newcastle are in a bad way, we should win this, but I have no confidence left in the team, do I want us to lose , no never , but do I expect up to lose, sadly yes :(

    Perhaps he's using Lingard as a warning how wrong things can go once you get there.

    Best case scenario is we win 1-0 through a penalty scored by ‘Rashy’... who worryingly hasn’t scored from open play since the opening weekend.

    I wouldn’t be handling training sessions, certainly, so I would need to rely on coaching staff in this regard. I would also require an able assistant manager to handle tactics and substitutions during matches. There would’ve been extensive hiring activity here as our current coaches can’t even teach players to take corners and free kicks. But I would have vetoed selecting Lingard, Mata, Matic, Jones and Young for match day squad on the basis of shit performance, that would have been done on day one.

    In terms of pure managerial work, of course I would - Ole tolerates and even encourages underperformance. It’s like on my actual job - I am not that much into technical nuances of the job my subordinates are doing (there are deputies for it), but rather supervise the department as a whole, and work on winning new business / negotiations with clients and prospects.
