He really isn't giving chance to youth because he's such a great man promoting youth players, he's forced to do it. Pereira's constantly on the bench, barely playing, Keane was at Preston, Wilson is loaned to Brighton (after rotting on the bench for half a year), Januzaj was sent on loan to BVB.

This is a very good point.

See Louis is making excuses already saying they set up like the mighty Sunderland. I dont recall Napoli finding the pitch too bad or small either when they beat them 1-4. Then again Napoli would probably beat us fairly comfortably.

The club has fallen so far down that there is no confidence in beating Midtjylland of whom i have never heard of till this year.

Struggling to even look forward to this. Didn't even realise it kicked off at 6pm, and I have no idea how to pronounce Midgetland.

Hopefully no one gets injured tonight.

not even watching the game, taking family out for a meal.
Sad that I feel like this , but out football this season is shocking.

Really don't get this. I understand the uncertainty but to not look forward to a game is just odd to me.

First time I've felt this way in years, and it feels odd to me too. I'll definitely watch it, but it's hard to feel excited about it. Probably part because the of the opponent, and part because I know we won't actually win the Europa League.

What channel is this on.. just realised I am not going to get back in time for the game. First one I will miss all season :(

BT Sport apparently. Looking like the first one I might miss as well. Just realised it's not on tv in Singapore and I'm not sure I can handle the hassle of watching a dodgy stream while listening to Michael Owen.

I can see a few players being up for this one. It's the ideal oppportunity for young guys like Depay, Perreira and Keane to show their ability. Very little pressure and fairly low ranked opposition. Strangely looking forward to it.

You know this competition is our best chance of Champions League football now, right? We don't want to mess about and risk going out

We should in theory produce some good stuff given the level of the opponent. It'll also be a European debut for quite a few players. That's what I'm clinging onto anyway.

I can see that point of view, but I'm not sure it's the best way into the Champion's League. I still think 4th place is on the table, and the Europa League campaign will be done and dusted with two bad games in a row, which we're clearly capable of. If we can avoid the big hitters in the next two rounds though, you never know.

    BT Sport 2

They usually put the European games on BT Sport Europe but they've put the Spurs game on instead.

Ah makes no difference to me, would have streamed it in that case anyway. Just won't be able to get back in time.. might catch the last 5-10 mins.

True. It would be good to see Pereira get a start in an important game. If Memphis plays, hopefully he can have a game like he did against Brugge, and hopefully get some confidence back.

I can understand why you would say this, but I am sick of looking forward to a game and being let down, badly.
I dont like LVG style of play , I dont think he can do the job, he is sucking the life out of United , well for me he is.
Besides 6pm is a shit time, by the time I have battled though the traffic to get home its will be half time.

I just think we have to go all out on both fronts now and treat them both equally seriously. Let those younger players have a chance in the FA Cup, or as subs (although I guess Depay might get a chance now with Rooney being out anyway)

Not at all confident we will get a result. Will be same eye sore and a 2-0 thrashing. And surprise surprise , LvG will blame the injuries.

Fair point on the impact of Rooney's injury for Depay. I thought Depay has looked decent when played up front. He had a solid game against Watford away with Lingard next to him, if I remember correctly? I'm just annoyed we didn't build the squad up when we had the chance last summer and in January. The only benefit of the cost-cutting has been the increasing involvement of the youngsters, and I'm just hoping they're ready for the challenge. I do like the look of CBJ and Perreira, but Love looked quite shaky against Sunderland.

I actually disagree with this 100%.
Anybody thinking we can win a European trophy probably hasn't watched us play for the last few months or believing that we are better than our results would suggest.
Do people realise that we just lost to Sunderland (and previous to that a host of other low ranked teams)?

To win a EU Cup competition, the team has to be solid and consistent. If you are losing, winning and drawing, you will most certainly get knocked out.
With the league and getting 4th place, you can be inconsistent (winning, losing and drawing), but as long as you are scoring more points than the teams ahead, you can make up a 6 point gap.

For the record I think getting top 4 and/or winning a EU trophy are almost impossible for us. This season was written off, on Jan 1st, when LVG conceded that he doesn't know how to beat teams like Norwich or Bournemouth.
