What happened to Borthwick? Don't tell me he's injured also. :wenger:

Why does Memphis get rewarded with a start for being an absolute arsehole the last few games.

Tidy team. Here's hoping Depay and Herrera can influence the game and prove to Van Gaal they're worth starting places. They're good on set pieces and so McNair needs to be strong here.

Good team, hopefully we can win this. Preferably with no players injured in teh process...

CBJ is ill, mate. Give Memphis a chance. He's just turned 22 and he keeps being thrown on with 10 minutes to go to save our starting 11 when they feck it all up. He'll come good.

Memphis has done well for us in Europe this season, I expect to see him do well again

I don't think the bench is all that bad.. Schneiderlin, Pereira, and Keane are players I think can make an impact easily.

I like the starting 11 though! Definitely wants to try and put this tie to bed so we can rest players before Arsenal (and hopefully even have a few back)! I actually think we'll knock three in tonight.

Attacking lineup. I look forward to seeing how Herrera will perform in a midfield 2 alongside Carrick.

    I'm expecting more of a 4-3-3.

    Mata - Herrera
    Lingard - Martial - Memphis

I actually like this team. I seriously hope they perform and do well, cos I want to see something similar going forward for the remaining of the season.

I actually disagree with this 100%.
Anybody thinking we can win a European trophy probably hasn't watched us play for the last few months or believing that we are better than our results would suggest.
Do people realise that we just lost to Sunderland (and previous to that a host of other low ranked teams)?

To win a EU Cup competition, the team has to be solid and consistent. If you are losing, winning and drawing, you will most certainly get knocked out.
With the league and getting 4th place, you can be inconsistent (winning, losing and drawing), but as long as you are scoring more points than the teams ahead, you can make up a 6 point gap.

For the record I think getting top 4 and/or winning a EU trophy are almost impossible for us. This season was written off, on Jan 1st, when LVG conceded that he doesn't know how to beat teams like Norwich or Bournemouth.

The consistency is much more needed in the league, where we don't have a realistic chance to finish in the top 4 as we can't even win two games in a row.

You can always fluke a European Cup and the chances for that are even greater in the Europa League. Even Dnipro reached the final ffs.

That front 3 using their pace to blast forward with 3 creative passers behind them should be really good.

Nice attacking lineup... Seems like it could be kind of similar to the one we had away to Basel way back in August. Herrera next to Carrick was a partnership I wanted to see for a while, but defensively that side is awful because of the injuries and wide players really. Front 4 do nothing defensively, herrera is a box to box but more attacking type, Carrick is more or less the only one who is smart defensively, and then at the back we have reserve players.... Hope for the best though. Let's just go for it and entertain. Europa league looks like our only hope for champions league next seasn, but even that's looking nigh on impossible with the injuries and lack of belief.

Ah, a future without our Grand master Wayne. Let's go there!

If we can't score at least 3 goals against a defence with Bodurov in it would be a fecking travesty.

Should him them on the counter quite well. A lot of pace in front 3. Memphis needs to do well here.
