I agree with everything you just said.

I suppose the idea is that we should be hyper aggressive trying to win the ball back (which just hasn’t happened) and a defender stepping in to midfield to help Casemiro as Mount and Bruno just aren’t there or in positions to help when we lose the ball.

However we are getting physically smashed in midfield and they are just running through us.

It's not necessarily "this is going well". It could also be a damning indictment of the options he has available on the bench. Any sub he makes is going to be criticised. If Eriksen comes on he'll get shit because that doesn't solve our midfield being ran through with ease. If he brings Sancho on the false nine experiment will be criticised. If he brings Sancho on on the left wing for Garnacho he'll get shit for persisting to play with Rashford up top, etc etc.
