Is there any chance of Hojlund featuring? I thought the news was that he couldn’t play two games in a week, but he hasn’t played yet this week.

not a better time to play Wolves who could get dragged into a relegation fight this year.....

They've lost their manager and some key players

Excited for this.... Due a big win to get us started

Been a long wait this weekend. Looking forward to seeing how United are with more time under Ten Hag and more new blood in the door.

Think we'll see Sancho start as a false nine so he can continue his sharp form over from preseason. Also keeps Rashford in his best position and leaves Garnacho the opportunity to make an impact later on by running at a tired defence.

Down to us now. I know it’s the 1st game of the season but we can’t afford to be playing catch up so early. We need to keep level with the top teams and hope they slip up to take advantage.

A draw, 1-1, no cohesion, 55% ball posession but with 3 shots on target, conceded after 23th min and spent all game trying to get an equalizer.

    I am an optimist.

    23th minute is interesting.

    Sack TenHag.
    Mount out.

Hoping for a good old 5-0 to kick-off the season. I am afraid that we might struggle with a low block as per usual though.

Please don't let the season opener be an anti-climax. Let's see some good transitioning!

We're going to win big and start the season on a banger note.

    I hope

It's why i think Eriksen would be very useful in games like this.

We need a statement win. Wolves are among my tips for relegation this season (lucky not to go last time round). We have to show this this season that we can beat this sort of side without too much trouble.

That said, I still don't see where the firepower is going to come from. I just hope that Mason Mount's arrival frees up Bruno to do what he did in his first six months with the club.

I'm also concerned that there is't any real cover at full back should Shaw and/or AWB revert to "awful" mode. We may have strengthened the squad in numbers (until Fred and Maguire are moved on, and possibly Scotty/Martial too) but we still look way way off being able to mount (no pun intended) a title challenge.

Not sure we have any choice but to bring back he who cannot be mentioned into the fold (or sell hm to finance a new goal scorer: my guess is if we hadn't already trie Lukaku, we might be thinking of it now...)

One bright possibility: this could be a huge season for Garnacho. I really want to see him given a run, especially when Rasmus is fit. See if he can ping balls into him, a junior sort of Beckham to Cole/Yorke. Maybe even have him start through the middle to see i his pace can get him among the goals (but we won't)

We always struggle to break down teams that defend for their lives against us, Wolves are specialists at breaking momentum in games. If we win, which we should, I can see it being by 1 or 2. There's nothing to suggest we will be deadlier in front of goal than last season, especially with Hojlund absent. That said we're away to Spurs and Arsenal in 2 of the next 3 after this so 3 points is crucial here. I am confident we will win but not sure by the manner in which we will.

We often struggle against them, but gut feeling is we are actually going to smash them this evening, sense if we can get an early goal its goin gto be a good night.

Both teams have changed a lot, us for the better and Wolves for the worse so I cannot see it's still automatically a low scoring competition.
3-0 United with Case, Sancho and Garnacho on the score sheet.

A sweaty 1-0 or 1-1 I think. I expect it to be a hard watch.

This keeps popping up whenever we play Wolves but is just the hangover from when they played ultra defensive football, after Nuno tried to make them more progressive (and got sacked for their subsequent plummet in form) we've had a great record against them in the league. We've taken 15/18 points.

    21/22 - Lost Home & Won Away - 3/6

That's the starting lineup I'd like to see.

I'm predicting that we'll struggle to break them down for around 60 minutes, then we'll make the breakthrough. After we've got 1, I think we'll score 2 more in fairly quick succession. With us, it's getting that first goal that's important.

I'd buzz off an early goal, will wake the crowd up and open the game up early. If we get an early one, we'll get a few more I reckon.

Oh, an early goal from any one of our front three would just be brilliant. A statement of things to come.

I just hope that we're more clinical this season. We'll create the chances, I'm sure of that, I just want our finishing to be better.

Especially after seeing Newcastle thrash Villa. We really need to dominate these sought of games and put our chances away.

Harsh on our defenders and new keeper
