    Would like to have seen a youth player CB on the bench. Youth has gone out of the window a bit this year.
     
    Oh. No. I hope he has a decent game. It is a lot asking him to be match fit after not playing for such a long time. When was the last time he played? Two years back? Or was it when LVG was the manager?

    Was literally just thinking this, seeing a lot of responses already that make me think that. Feel bad for Jones, he will be scrutinised to a ridiculous level. Hope he kills it tonight and can turn things around.

    I hope he plays absolutely brilliantly! Imagine him staying injury free and pairing up with Varane as our preferred centre back pairing. Just the thought:D

    I thought he didnt do any worst than the rest of the team against Newcastle. Just worried about Matic fitness starting so many games in a row. Wolves are a pretty physical side. But anyhow, I'm strangely confident about this one.
     
    Who'd have thought Jones would get a start before Beek under Ralf. :lol:

    I thought Lindelof stated himself that he'd be back for this and even if not, there were still better options.

    We could have recalled Tuanzebe back yesterday.
    We could have played McTominay or Matic there aswell.

    I hope Jones has a good game, I really do, but our bench suggests we're all out of CB's so he's getting the start. Where is Mengi?

    As far as I can tell '4-2-2-2' as we play it, is a formation that switches between 4-4-2 and 4-2-3-1 (when Ronaldo drops deeper).
     
    Hope Jones has a good game, hes had no luck in recent years but he’s a red through and through. Remember him standing with fans at liverpool away a few years ago. Top bloke.

    Maybe Jones has been rock solid in training? He's always had runs of form where he defended very well, he is capable of it
     
    Quite an statement to bench Maguire, dont know if its tactical or forced because of injury though, and Bruno. I like that Rangnick has dropped the "undroppables" Bruno and Rashford, hopefully it sends a strong message to the whole squad, you either perform or youre benched.
     
    Well who picked Phill Jones. Is it a good or bad thing to not predict the 11. Its just another win please. Seems Rangnick is looking at players like its pre season? Just hope he gets the results along the way.
     
    Oh dear...Matic...not sure we've had one solid 90 minutes from him in two seasons. Wonder what's wrong with Fred.

    Yep but the manager who sees them all in training thinks Jones can do a job tonight, let’s be a little positive and maybe save the moaning until when/if it backfires.

    Maguire isn't even on the bench. We have no CBs on the bench so Jones/Varane better last the full game.

    Maguire must be injured if he's not in the squad. Has there been anything official?
