Good half of football. Both teams playing some nice stuff. Lukaku has been poor; he just hasn't been in the game at all. Sanchez still isn't doing anything for me. I would stick Martial on personally.

Luke Shaw playing well again though.

Still waiting for evidence that Sanchez is better than Martial on the left (or at all).

Shots don't define if a team has been dreadful. We've played well with some issues delivering a final ball.

No we haven't been dreadful... but only 3 shots as the home side against a team that we should be beating, isn't good either. Although I think that's mainly down to our full-backs and front three.

Sanchez and Lingard are drifting inside too much and creating congestion. Lukaku has no space to work with.
Which is why Jose wanted wingers that stay wide to stretch the play. Not sure how many of them there are about now. He wanted Perisic, but a lot of teams now use their fullbacks for width. Shaw and Dalot we might have a chance, but Valencia can stay wide, but has absolutely no end product.

Sanchez talent is worth persisting with him as potential rewards are enormous... can’t give up on a world class player that easily... he still works his socks off even when it’s not falling for him. I believe it’s the same reason JM is playing him.
Too much sense in that post.

feck the archaic broadcasting rules. Have paid for the full PL package, but still can’t watch this game in Norway.

Almost enough to make me want the PL nosedive, for disrespescting fans to this degree. Absolutely no reason that a fan shouldn’t be able to watch every single one of their team’s game in 2018. God knows I we enough to feel entitled to it.

Our midfield's looked better than I've seen for a long time, with proper designated roles each player is carrying off well. Superb link up for our goal between Pogba and Fred.

We look disjointed as hell up front. It's not for the want of trying but I don't see this front three working.

Wolves are still in this, we'll need a second goal for sure.

Sánchez showing some good signs. Definitely got better as the half went on, some lovely interplay around the box.

Fred looks like a brilliant signing.

Lol maybe i was a bit premature with the word dreadful in regards to everything but end product wise we have been dreadful.

Sanchez has been not playing great but when there is no movement from Lukaku who is standing still then there is nothing much he can do but try and do something on his own. We need a world class striker if we are to win trophies. Wolves has been playing beautiful football. Their movements has been very good. Every time Valencia gets the ball the play stops as he jumps up and down on the spot like a boxer. It is not a CB we need but a world class striker. RVP on one leg is better than Lukaku on two legs.

In a bar in bangkok with 3 tv's around me, city Liverpool and United. I've ended up watching more of there games than the United one. There football is unbelievable. Great news we are 1 up but God it has been dreadful. Have we tested the keeper since the goal (except Fred freekick)
    Their x2

We are so worryingly poor and unthreatening in wide areas. It is in these areas that a team’s main attacking threats usually lie. I can’t recall a full-back who has been really run ragged against us for ages.

Our over reliance on Pogba is so evident. We would be an average team without him.

Hell of an effort from Fred. Between him and Pogba...it seems FKs should become dangerous again.
Hopefully Andreas will feature more — his free kicks are brilliant as well.

I bet you also complain when we put in "normal crosses any burnley defender would put in" and they don't make it to their target.
I am not complaining just reacting to your overreaction like if Sanchez made the goal, he hasn't been good today but hopefully he will produce something when the game opens up for him:)

Quick summary of how we've played?

Lol maybe i was a bit premature with the word dreadful in regards to everything but end product wise we have been dreadful.
Yes, we aren't as good going forward and City or Liverpool. That's obvious. I was pointing out your ridiculous hyperbole. We've been playing well today.

Edit: I'd also say we're playing a far better team than either or those are playing. City weren't amazing against Wolves either.

I can't understand whether I should be happy or concerned that Smalling is actually our best centre-back currently. Lindelof could become a great player if he improved a bit, at the moment he looks fairly shaky

Well ridiculous is hardly the word matey. If you think the overall performance has been good then good on you. Just shows the difference in standard that is expected.

He hasn't lived up to expectations but if the alternative is Martial or Rashford then I know who I would chose, and the manager agrees.

Okay mate. Sanchez will score the odd goal, have a few moments here and there but he is a declining talent and I cannot expect much of him.

Lukaku's doing that pointing to feet motion again. Urh,just move !
His anticipation can be dreadful at times.

And when it is played to his feet the defender nicks it before him because he is on the back foot. I really do not know why Jose thinks he is a world class striker?
