This is the first time all three have started.

Wow. I remember in preseason that we all presumed these three would be the obvious choices. Would have liked to see Marcus in front of them for the full MMMM.

Happy to see Fosu-Mensah get a start. But Fellaini and Schweinsteiger in midfield...

Interesting line-up. People have been complaining about a lack of rotation and Pogba/Hererra/Ibra being tired. Well this is what you get. Should be a game where we can afford to rotate anyway. Really pleased Fosuh-Mensah is starting and Shaw/Martial get a chance to impress. Tuanzebe will be delighted to get on the bench. Be fun to watch BFS too. Good stuff.
If there's anything this Fa cup round has proven is that you can't afford to rotate and assume it'll still be a foregone win. Tough game today with that side I reckon.

Fellaini has, you mean. He's the better footballer at this point.

I'm sorry, but that is absurd.

You don't lose the quality that Schweinsteiger has. Scweinsteiger just doesn't have the legs for it anymore, which makes Fellaini a better option, but certainly not a better footballer.

Just hope both Fosu-Mensah and Schweinsteiger show they can start easier FA Cup and Europa League games. Shaw producing a good performance would be swell, since the left-back position is still for grabs.

    You certainly do. He has.

Meh. Arsenal and Chelsea coped fine with just as many changes, if not more. So should we.

Anyway. All the players dropped looked jaded mid-week. Good decision to rest them IMO.

We presumed Mata would be an obvious choice under jose?

BBC, according to Phil Neville, has Martial upfront. :wenger: After what Mourinho demanded from Martial's performance today, that would be pure incompetence from the manager.

Arsenal played a reserve Southampton side and Chelsea played a weaker team than Wigan.

Wigan are playing the same side that won their last three games, we're playing a side who aren't used to playing together. Numerous games in this round have shown that that's a very dangerous combination.

But we're at home, we should win, just don't think it'll be easy. Would be nice if it was, though.

I've seen more life in my mum's mashed potatoes than that midfield. It'll be interesting to say the least.

I think Arsenal played almost full strength, opposite of Southampton.

I hope he and Rooney can interchange, at least. He was deadly when deployed upfront by van gaal.

They are still near the bottom of the Championship. We get very few chances to make many changes. This is a good opportunity and we looked in need of some freshening up against Hull anyway.

I'm not arguing the rotation, I'm glad we are. Just that I don't think it'll be a field day is all. Our first team struggles to comfortably beat shit sides, let alone our second string (sort of).

Good team. Was hoping TFM would be in midfield next to BFS to bring some energy but pleased to see him start anyway.

"It's like you're playing football underwater, and when you score a goal you're coming up for air."

I think that's the most poetic thing Rooney's said.
