    The Schweinsteiger is back!

And talking about Fußballgott... also Fellaini is playing.

It's Wigan we're playing, at home too. Don't care what team we put out as long as we rested all the key players, so I'm happy with the lineup. Hope Herrera doesn't come on, he does a lot of running and needs the rest too. Should be a comfortable victory despite the slow midfield.
Got a feeling Ander is on the bench to replace BFS when his legs go. He wouldn't have Carrick there and Pogba would play a different role anyway.

Fellaini AND Schweinsteiger in midfield. Gulp.

I'm not so concerned about Schweinsteiger but his combination with Fellaini is going to be awful... It is not going to be a fun game...Fellaini and Rooney should never play in the same team.

To top it all today's spine is Smalling, Fellaini and Rooney. Awesome.

Would be excited to see what Martial could do as #9, but doubt it's the case.
    Same.

For me, Martial was most impressive as a forward and more so than as a winger. When he first came here it wasn't his pace or dribbling that fascinated me most- it was his cool finishing. His movement as a striker was actually pretty good before he got shifted to the wing, where I think he is worse.

You mean like when we played Fellaini and Rooney with Mata out wide against Swansea and played the best football we had played in a while?

Interesting line-up. People have been complaining about a lack of rotation and Pogba/Hererra/Ibra being tired. Well this is what you get. Should be a game where we can afford to rotate anyway. Really pleased Fosuh-Mensah is starting and Shaw/Martial get a chance to impress. Tuanzebe will be delighted to get on the bench. Be fun to watch BFS too. Good stuff.

Nice to see Schweinstieger. Guess he'll play the more reserved centre midfield role, picking up the ball and trying to control the game, whilst Fellaini gets forward.

Martial Mata Mkhitaryan - this is what I've wanted to see since the start of the season.

Unfortunately the old aged pensioner is leading it but hopefully he can put in a decent performance.
Didn't we see this sometime in the early part of the season? Always seemed the obvious thing to do until we discovered that Pogba doesn't operate well in a midfield two.

Shame for Young that he's not starting while Bastian is. I like Young much more than Bastian though, well all our players more than him.

Right. Please do not do a Liverpool lads. Let's get through this nice and easy please..

Rooney and Fellaini started when we beat Reading 4-0

for all players you will find positive results if you try, i dont like neither of them and think we are a comfortably better team without them.

Basti, Fellaini and Rooney midfield...

If this was Football Manager, they would all have 20 pace... combined.

Good to see TFM start and hopefully Tuanzebe can squeeze in a few minutes.

You mean like when we played Fellaini and Rooney with Mata out wide against Swansea and played the best football we had played in a while?

None of them can run really, really fast so surely it would be impossible for them to be involved in any type of good football, no?

    Thats 9/11 for me
I really hope Schweinsteiger plays well and become a part for the rest of the season. I believe he has more to offer than Carrick or Herrera in certain games.

    9/11 for me.

Looks like a good team. A move to 4-2-3-1. Plenty of pace on the flanks with Mensah/Mkhitaryan on the right and Shaw/Martial on the left.

Just shows our depth as plenty of key players are getting a needed rest. (Valencia, Jones, Carrick, Herrera, Pogba, Ibrahimovic).
Also shows our lack of quality depth IMO. Fellaini, Schweinsteiger, Rooney not good enough for next season. Especially considering they are taking up a combined 550-600k per week in wages...

Hope TFM has a good game. Will be nice to see Tuanzebe get some minutes if we are comfortable.

Or beat Reading 4-0 with those 3 starting
Beating Reading and Swansea isn't exactly something to brag about. Then again we just got comfortably outplayed by Hull. We can only hope it goes well today cos I can never be confident with those two let alone starting together. My concern is that Joyce is going to want to put on a show tonight so we best be on top form.

Yeah I reckon you're right. Wouldn't mind seeing Herrera if it's after the 70th minute.

This is the first time all three have started.

I hope he is playing a 4-2-3-1 with Mata or Mikhi in the hole and Rooney as the striker. I really don't want to see Rooney at 10. Also, if Martial needs to make it into the squad on the LW for Hull, he needs to play there tonight. Jose can't start him on the left, based on his performance today in the center.

Absolutely. But as long as Ibra is at the club, I guess it makes sense to have him (Martial) focusing on the only position he's likely to be starting most games in.

wow cant believe Jose makes drastic changes. But I'm happy because Shaw and TFM get their chances and Martial is played again. c'mon lads! Hopefully BFS and big Felly also play well as our midfielders.

Pace everywhere apart from in midfield. If Basti and Fellaini get time and space with the ball it'll be fine, but chances are Wigan will be instructed to get all over them. Could be a long day.

Jose will keep Fellaini as he has taken a liking to him and he offers us something different.

Rooney and Schweinsteiger may need to be moved on come summer, but both are capable of providing decent/good performances now.

I think Fellaini already has a good thing going with Jose (not that I agree with it). I really want BFS to do well. If he can step up and dominate the game today, Jose can hopefully start rotating Carrick a little and keep him fresh for big games.

(However, I am not too confident of that happening. The last few times BFS has had cameos - (5-10 mins) - he has mostly just let the game run him by as if he doesn't really care about making an impression. Hope I'm wrong.)
