    Maybe I should've phrased it more succinctly; people claiming that's a pen are the reason diving is so remarkably commonplace in football when compared to other sports.

    I have no idea why he drops deep. He has turning circle of a ship and he’s not particularly insightful with his passing

    Agree 100%. Liverpool have been a prime example of this for years. A few stars sure, but lots of 'filler', who just work like lions and do what they are told.
     
    Hopefully we play better second half and maybe maintain our passes. Rashford can be little bit better than Greenwood I’d say.
     
    Fred is an abomination and it’s clearly evident when we come up against anyone decent McTominay is not good enough at this level. How hard can it it be for a club to replace two players so average when it’s the clear area that needs improving first.
     
    God that was low quality. We probably edged it, but still depressing seeing what we’re putting out right now.
     
    Same old problems really. Just rudimentary passing going astray. There's absolutely no excuse for it FFS. We had some decent moments in the game, but we're being let down by the basics.
     
    Very happy with how all our players played except for Elanga and Greenwood. They need to be overlapping with Ronaldo dropping a bit deeper and they haven't done it all. If no improvement from them, need to replace at least one with Rashford. Defence has been very good today. Midfield doing a great job and consistently pressing and winning back possession. Only thing missing is chance creation.
     
    We are largely controlling play but final ball/cross/ decisions in final third not quite happening.

    Decent first half, that. Greenwood’s greed is really become an issue, IMO. I rate Elanga but he’s been ineffectual thus far albeit after a bright opening few minutes.

    Cavani and possibly Rashford on, for me.

    Yep I think Ronaldo is finished unfortunately. Physically not up to it anymore unless the ball is dropped to him for a tap in.
     
    Gary Neville will have you believe the premier league is stronger than ever. These are the teams in 4th and 7th and the standard was championship level.
    Never seen two teams so incompetent at passing the ball. Simple passes going astray, overhit, underhit.
     
    Ok half imo. Both teams have been solid. Unfortunately.

    Hope we'll score and win. Who score first gonna win I think. Probably a 0-0 draw.
     
    Decent first half, compared to Brentford we've been so much better defensively.

    Maguire and Varane could be a decent partnership, let's hope they start building on it

    Bruno hasn’t been crap, he’s been involved in all of our better moments and is working tremendously for the team.
    Very enjoyable first half, just need a more composure in the penalty area. Fred for me is the weak link in the team, runs a lot but doesn’t really have a clue when he’s in possession, very limited on what he can actually do with the ball. That said I hope he scores a banger in the second half.
     
    Fantastic defensively, completely shut down West Ham's attackers. Best half defensively this season. Shame we are severely lacking offensively.
     
    Thought I'd have a quick glance at the BBC live text, see what's going on with that drone at the Brentford game, and Dion Dublin reckons Antonio is bullying us and West Ham are controlling the midfield. When did that happen?

    Decent performance ( comparative to previous weeks anyway) bar that final ball, but the intensity has been good, we're not being walked through like many teams have done to us this season.
     
    Just one goal across four games. :lol:

    Probably because he is English and would cost a gold bar, and people are not happy with other English players we bought for much more money then they are actually worth, and gave them huge wages. So they don't want another one.
     
    Good half in terms of controlling parts of the game, no shots on target, need to play a bit more quicker in possession Elanga more runs behind. Best chance Greenwood needs to shoot off his right. More needed in final 3rd to win this game. But a ok half in terms of stopping the opposition.
     
    Reminded me of a Van Gaal performance. Control of the game without creating anything.
     
    Would swap Elanga and Greenwood for Cavani and Rashford early in the second half, unless they show up after the break. Both passengers. Most other players have been decent, Dalot a particular positive. We've been controlling the game well but must start creating.

    Yes I agree. Last good few league games have been far below Utd standard whatever that means anymore
     
    All very good except for the final third. Not sure we can keep up the energy in the second half. Hopefully we can get something on a break.
     
    West Ham isn't offering anything forward neither are we. It's LVG esque control though. No shots on target.

    Someone will nick a goal. I don't see more than a goal in this game.
     
    Time to just bench Greenwood. Offers nothing and only seems to try to shoot rather than pass.

    Martial was crucified here for far better.
     
    I imagine we'll turn it on in the second half, like we did in the last game. The first half was kept tight and West Ham were contained relatively comfortably.

    Just need to get the first goal somehow. I wish we could get goals earlier in games.
