At the start of the season I'd have laughed at anyone who said that by November Rojo, Darmian and Lingard would be in Mourinho's first choice picks from this squad for a must win league game.

Wow, extremely attacking minded team. However I think Rooney deserves to be in the starting line up ahead of Rashford or Lingard. I also see Mata seriously starting to gear up now. He's probably at 80% of his capacity - it's just sad it's taken him 3 years to reach that after being Moyesed. Rojo is also becoming a vital part of the team. Other things that sticks out is the fact that Jones is actually becoming a squad player for us!

Ffs. Bit of a mediocre lineup. Expect a lot of kinda shit decisions on the wings even though we'll get in good positions. No reason for Mourinho not to play Mkhitaryan, especially after his display against Feyenoord. Expect Rooney and Miki to come off the bench and us to start playing a lot better. Though to be fair, mourinho might want them for the cup game mid week. No idea why he would prioritize that over this though.
Yep. Let's simply forget about getting anything from the wings.

Rashford should be sitting with Martial in the stand or on the couch right now. He's been terrible(yes terrible, I won't sugarcoat this) and doesn't deserve to make the squad right now (if Martial can't, neither does Rashford who's had more chances consistently but has consistently been poor) let alone be in the starting line up.

Lingard should be at least on the bench.

We should have gone for our more creative players or productive ones. Miki is creative and Rooney is somehow productive as of late.

Past experiences show that Lingard - Rashford wing combo is unproductive and lack creativity. All pace with no end product especially Rashford lately. Kid can outpace his man on the wing but lacks the skill to cross with his left foot and look to cut back inside and lose the ball. His pace means naught if he lacks the skills to produce something after outpacing his man.

Now we only have to look at Mata, Pogba and Valencia be our sole creative outlets with Ibra pitching in from time to time.

    When? Don't sugarcoat this.

Wow. I really don't get this line up... I hope to be proved wrong

    This is a good sign.
When the caf are happy with team selection, things usually go tits up.
I think the caf were not happy with the team selection against Swansea and we won that comfortably.

One thing which we do have right now, is competition for places, where to get into the team you need to be playing out of your skin. Miki had one good game a few days ago and he can't make the first team.
Similarly if you are playing badly (Martial & Memphis are great examples), you won't even make the bench.
This is what MUFC was missing for the last 3 seasons.

    I've gone with 3-1.

Rooney is truly done. I actually thought he'd start this after his display on Thursday. The Mkhitaryan fan boys and Lingard critics must be furious right now

That bench though! Terrible... Should be at least one of Martial and Memphis.

So what is Rashford doing in the line up?

So what about Rashford? Played twice as much as Martial (not great) and still starts.

Chelsea, under Jose, Mata was POTY. So I guess Mata was waiting for Jose to join us, before he put in POTY performances. :D
Jose and Mata seem to work well together, which is why it was so strange that Jose sold Mata to us.

Under Mourinho Martial has got many chances.... You can't say the same thing about Memphis so its harsh to say that he has been playing badly this season.

    He wasn't.

9/11. Had Rooney and Carrick starting instead of Lingard and Rashford with Carrick of after 60.

So what about Rashford? Played more than Martial and still starts.

So far this season, Rashford has played better than Martial (I won't bother talking about Memphis).
Also, we don't know what is happening in training. Is Martial trying as hard as Rashford?
Bastian is on the bench...again, is he working hard in training?

    No

Mata was not poty under Jose

We are at home and we've got Herrera. We'll be fine. Maybe Basti will even surprise us.

Maybe but if WHam actually decide to have a go (and they really have nothing to fear) we'd have close to 0 protection for the back four. Herrera is decent but his positioning is not ideal and Pogba is frankly useless defensively.

Oh ffs. I'm sick of these shitty Manc lads constantly getting game time. Can we please play some good fkin players like Martial and Mkhi. I'm a Jose fan, but it's getting frustrating now.

Focus on the post, not the poster.... hmmm. this post is a prat.

Get Rashford in that channel between Collins and Antonio. Antonio not disciplined defensively and Collins no pace

Is Herrera the most defensive minded player we have in the front six? That's pretty incredible. We need to score early with this kind of lineup, the lack of protection for the defense makes me a bit nervous.
