    Will you learn one day ? No matter how wasteful Bruno is, he will score or assist. You can’t put a player like that on the bench.
     
    Bruno giveth and Bruno taketh away. This could be one of those 0-1 stupid loses because of extremely poor finishing.
     
    Having a midfielder playing actually helps us control a game. Watford are rubbish but Matic is playing well again.

    I'd agree with you in most of what you said here, but Fred was quality in your eyes? I have to disagree mate, I thought he was awful. He's just so limited in what he can do.
     
    Strong performance. Finishing letting us down again. I'm really impressed with Elanga. He's playing very well

    He breaks the balance of defense, attack and first XI choosing but he was great in finishing when he came..But it seems his finishing skill is gone also..
     
    The difference in our play when Maguire doesn't play & Matic does is incredible. We can actually pin teams back and get high up the pitch, instead of aimlessly trying to press vast unrealistic spaces.

    He’s class isn’t he. Comes back into the fold every 4 weeks or so and reminds everyone what a proper 6 is supposed to do, before disappearing again.

    If he wasn’t he would have better stats then Ronaldo and Messi combined at their peak.
    Give me some wasters like him any day, I prefer that then players who don’t waste and don’t produce either.
    Can’t believe some people thinks he is a problem in this team.
     
    If there's one position I want us to nail this summer it's the number 6. Someone will footballing intelligence, who we're not afraid to play through and can move us forward.

    When Matic is in the groove he makes such a difference.
     
    Think Fred is a bit of a liability he's 85% decent and 15% disastrous mistakes in dangerous areas. Hard to believe he's brazilian with his first touch sometimes.
     
    If Matic had a right foot, he’d have gone down in the very top tier no.6 of his generation

    Honestly I thought he was quality. Nice touches, great vision, inventive with the ball, some good defensive moments and positioning, kept the midfield ticking for me. I really like him under Ralf.

    Yeah, I don’t think he’s necessarily been the key problem this season but when you lose a step it affects not just your pace but things like finishing as well. He’s gets to the through ball half a yard later so the keeper is a bit closer and the finish is harder. Or you arrive in the box a split second later so instead of being there for the finish you are stretching.

    What has shocked me is how often he simply miscontrols the ball or slips over. It’s kind of weird to see him be less than a machine.
     
    Missed chances aside, Ronaldo and Bruno were sheer quality in that first half. They were involved in everything we did well in and around the box.
     
    We play trash and score : « we are shit, I would prefer nice football no matter the results »
    We play good but didn’t score : « our players are so wasteful, I would prefer more efficient football »

    The CAF should make his mind.

    A great game for Ronaldo seems to now be not losing the ball when passing it and one nice flick to Elanga. Ignoring the missed chances, poor touches, poor dribbles and falling over the ball several times.

    I sometimes wonder if people here even watched Ronaldo in his prime or even just a couple of years ago at Juve.

    Yeap usual carry on, Ronaldo is finished, we are crap bla bla bla, same narratives.

    I would agree with a majority of this but Fred is having his usual brain farts, counted 3 in the last 10 there at least, Bruno could've comfortably put us at least 2 ahead, Ronaldos link up play in the last few games has deserved assists because some of it has been so so silky.

    Agreed. Once Leeds are relegated let’s bring in Phillips.
