Apparently Garner is contractually forbidden from playing against us - otherwise he would have been on the bench at least.

Bailly and tuanzebe will either be amazing or a horror show, can’t wait to see

Good to see the rotation, was hoping Ighalo would start, hopefully he gets a good amount of time in the second half.

I asked for rotation before and we have it, inc Bruno and Rashford on the bench if we really need them to unleash on a tiring Watford. Those complaining need to go back and look for the names of those asking for rotation and now complaining. Most likely is thousands of members don't think alike, post at different times and it's not a hive mind.

I can take a loss rather than playing our first team into the ground.

I've put a couple bets on that involves Greenwood scoring so I fully expect him to have stinker tonight now

Very weird selection. I get that many players need a rest but many of the players in today have not played much let alone with each other.
If they can’t be good enough to beat Watford at home then why are they even here ?

We're a top of the league premier league outfit.
He can't expect to walk into a team that has Pogba, Bruno and others.

True, no has a divine right to play for United. But does it make any sense to spend 40m on a 23 year old Ajax and Netherlands NT player and put him behind James in the pecking order and come on only in garbage time?

We are top of the league and I’ve been an Ole In man and that hasn’t changed. But I would suggest that Donny has proven more in his career than Dan James and some other teammates. The important work today is victory, so let’s remain focused high expectations most of us have today.

    James is a winger ??

Strangely happy with that team despite it looking worryingly shite . My basic wishlist was Maguire, Bruno and Rashford getting a rest, Donny getting a start, and Greenwood playing as the central striker. Happy to see Tuanzebe get an opportunity, and to see whether Williams can show any of his early promise at RB where we could really use a more attacking alternative to AWB. The big concern is obviously realising that we're relying on James and Lingard for much of our creativity. Mata still has his moments of quality, so we could really use a big performance from him today.

How can you be behind in the pecking order to someone who doesn't even play the same position as you? It's like claiming De gea is stopping Greenwood getting more minutes.

To be fair they need to play at some point, rather this than Burnley tbf.

All jokes aside I can see why folk would get underwhelmed with the line up. It could be a big of a slog...but I'd rather this than full strength.

I'd like to see a few more of our u23 prospects perhaps....but one way or another you have to play senior fringe players to keep them in nick or provide a route out.

Never thought I'd see Lingard playing for us again, to be honest. Really hope Donny has a good game here. Although I wouldn't judge him too harshly if he doesn't. Probably difficult coming into a much-changed team.

Hopefully Donny can do well in that midfield base and push mctom out of the side. Also i know it's been mentioned but why so many first teamers on the bench, surely a chance for some youth although maybe thats a covid thing. Lets hope gunwood snipes us a couple and on to anfield we go.

It's certainly been a strange signing. Especially when for maybe 60m we might have got Grealish in the summer who would be an absolute star player here.

    That's hindsight for you though!

    Is Donny a winger now?

Greenwood must be chuffed. Finally gets a shot up front and had James and Lingard to either side of him.

I'm still one of the biggest fans of the FA Cup, it's probably what made me fall in love with football and some of my earliest memories of United were in the cup tbf.

I was fecking furious when we dumped it for the World Club Championship shite.

I've been at the front of the line giving people stick for making the FA Cup sound like some sort of joke.

I feel slightly different currently with thr sheer amount of games in the time we have mind. I'm by no means confident in that starting 11...but it's about right.

I think Pellestri would have had minutes but for COVID.

Don’t see what’s wrong with the team, think it’s a sensible lineup by Ole.

Good to see some players get rested, this will only benefit us.

Would love to see Donny have a good game, hoping Tuanzebe can have a decent game too.

    Let’s be having you!
Glad we are resting. I would go further and give Fernandes the night off. Have kids on the bench.

Our first team proper are fatigued and it is starting to show. They are in desperate need for a rest.

Expect a full strength squad with no rotation for this one. The PE teacher will be scared to get knocked out of cups in back to back matches, (especially this one since it's a Championship side, he's clearly desperate to get a trophy), him rotating against Instanbul and that ultimately being the reason why we are out of the CL put the fear into him about rotation/rest. So no rest going into the Liverpool game because we can't rest against Burnley. Meanwhile Liverpool will have 8 days off before that, while we'll have played in 2 more games between today and then and only have 4 days off before the match.
    Nostradamus here. Great insight.

I don’t imagine £60m would be enough for Grealish. But we will never know.

Grealish would certainly have the benefit of beingused to the league (yes, it clearly is a factor).

been a strange year, every game has been important. The poor start meant there was no scope for bedding in.

let’s see how he does tonight. The way some people have been going on about him, I’m expecting the second coming of [insert any Dutch legend].

Very weird selection. I get that many players need a rest but many of the players in today have not played much let alone with each other.

Bags of ability in the lineup and managed to practically rest everyone. Excellent squad management.

We’re playing against a Championship team who have also rotated... Nothing weird about this selection

Aye, I mean an 18 year old at one of the world's biggest clubs should be throwing all sorts of toys out the pram when not playing with the bestest everz bae
