Shaw excellent, Jones good, the rest meh. Still, it's always silly to read too much into the first game back after a break and it's a solid win against a decent side. We'll be better next match.

Our net spend in the last 3 transfer windows has been ridiculously low and no one seems to have picked up on this.
Meanwhile, our wage bill remains ridiculously high. It almost seems like an oxymoron, but it that's the situation we are in.

The people that said we could challenge were on this forum. I doubt challenging for the league is a concern for Woodward. It's got to do with this obsession with the manager, apparently we 'underperformed' last season and it was used as a stick to beat the manager with. Similar thing happened with LVG, he didn't want to pass the ball between the CBs for half the game, his players were just shite (partly his fault).

It is tactical. Seems obvious to me the players are standing off rather than pressing most of the game, im guessing beacuse Ole thinks its more important to defend the lead than open ourselves up needlessly
