Painful 45 mins. Hopefully we see a reaction.Villarreal are an excellently coached team but low on quality. They have it all down in terms of transition, half spaces, etc but overall individual quality will limit them.
We are an adequately coached team but very high on quality. We have certain things down, but rarely operate in half spaces and transition smoothly. Our quality can mask our collective deficiencies.
McFred withstanding I am absolutely certain that this current squad in the hands of a top coach could play much better and have a real go for the title.
More of a flexible 4-1-4-1In the buildup of their last attack, Pogba and Greenwood pressed the player, he evaded both, BOTH didn't track, it's just unbelievable, the player crossed half the pitch, the players need to do their defensive job better. Greenwood did some good interventions but we need to do this the whole game, a lot of individual mistakes it's so frustrating to watch.
Moyes didn't spend quite as much, or have a long a time.Bring on another striker and go 4132.
4 midfielders can control the game better than 1 and 2 strikers up front can hold up play and also, crossing to 2 players is better than crossing to 1 player surrounded by 5 defenders.I would sub out Ronaldo and have Cavani up top
Problem is we have no midfield and our FBs are shite. I can put Paris in a bottle with an if. He's been isolated and offering basically nothing. We can't continue like this. Sub him off and get a mid on before it's too late.
It’s our central midfield. People are trying to complicate it by pointing at our work rate up top but sometimes, when you see cheese, it’s cheese. It’s blindingly obvious that our lack of organisation and quality in CM is why our defenders are constantly exposed, why we can’t control games, and why none of our best attacks ever originate through good team play rather than individual brilliance.Not the reaction I was hoping for after the weekend, the players look deflated.

Greenwood poor half as well, offside when he shouldn’t be, those moments are the chances to get around the back of them, he needs to get himself on side.

Why do we continually need to be sorted out at half time? It's happening time and time again where we need to be second half FC. Come into the game with the right plan and the right mentality. Who's fault is it that those key things aren't there? The manager's.

Pogba is playing very high up so it requires to sacrifice one of our attacking players to augment the shape. Matic will just end up being alone in midfield as well.
I'd take off Pogba, for purely tactical reasons. Or even Bruno for a 433.Wouldn’t surprise me to see him bring Matic on to solidify the middle and bring some semblance of order. If this continues they WILL convert a chance soon
McTominay has tried to cover for no one, he has been as useless as the other two.
