It is quite possible we lose this game, especially with a weakened back line so those of you who are not of the plastic persuasion I would avoid this place like the clap if we dont win. Even a draw will be a tidal wave of plastic whiny infantile nonsense.
Just because some of us have very real concerns about Ole's ability to get the most out of this amazing squad he's assembled, doesn't mean we're plastics. I will always support United and Ole is a legend. I think he's done an absolutely brilliant job getting us back to where we are now. But you have to recognise that some people are specialists at certain things. Ole deserves a chance because he's the one who got us to where we are now, so he should have the opportunity. But just because he was good at that, doesn't mean he's the right man to take us on to the next stage. It's entirely possible and probable that he isn't.

Feeling optimistic today. Have changed the score prediction from 0-2 to 0-0.

The pessimistic here is unbelievable. Yes we lost the last two games but tbh the game in the league cup shouldn't count, we didn't really care about that match tbf. And the last match was a really strange game with lot of unusual things. Kind of an accident for me. That's football, it happens.

Villarreal is a decent team, well organized and sound defensively for sure but I've no doubt we will beat them. So should our players and our fans imo.

We haven’t done well under Ole in these must win games. Look at all the semis we lost, final last year, UCL last year. Sure we might have won one or two but the general consensus is we don’t do well. So a draw wouldn’t be the most surprising result.

I mean Ole himself said in his presser that this isn’t a must win game. If that’s the mentality that gets transferred to the players then we are in trouble.

It's going to be a cagey game that could go either way, a loss could be huge though. The pressure on Everton at the weekend would be massive. Hopefully we can put a decent performance in, the fact we haven't clicked over 90 minutes worries me more than the results to be honest.

    Telles, Lindelof and Dalot starting?

    Form a prayer circle.
Would you rather have Juan foryth, Pau Torres, Raul Albiol and Alberto Moreno?

Our second string defense should still hold their own. Perhaps the lack of consistent playing time may affect their form, but they won't be the main reason if an upset happens tonight

I do not think Telles will start. Telles and Pogba would form a too weak left side. I think Fred will be left back. I am probably wrong though.

I don’t think we are winning tonight but then again I have sort of checked out and just watching for vibes at this point.

I’m a weirdo, I’m kind of liking the idea of seeing Dalot and Telles play as wing backs tonight.

They are both pretty good offensively, so they might surprise a few people I think.

Telles is the best crosser of a ball in the team. CR7 will score at least one header tonight.

Villarreal's strength is their defence but you're right, against their strike force our backups should be able to cope as they are not often prolific.

Don't even think Gerard Moreno is playing either, who's easily their best forward

Read Liverpool will be here scouting Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal as a potential Mane replacement..

Hopefully Dalot and Telles get through this game okay. We have no cover for them if one of them got injured.

Why didn't they just get him from Bournemouth in the summer?!
Villarreal won't sell cheap, top top player.

The fact that you all refuse to take facts like new player integration and team gelling into consideration negates any intelligent conservation.

In theory I'd like to think we'll do better than I'm expecting, because my expectations are low unfortunately. This always looked the stinker of the group stage and we're not exactly in the best position for it.

    Surely that's managerial genius, no?

Convince the players it isn't must win because apparently we're shite at those... Profit

I do as well but at some point, we need to get results. I like the squad Ole is building. I don't like our tactics and selections at times. Players playing not playing in their favored positions just to get them on the pitch. Pogba mainly. I don't like how we start slow and have to come from behind far too often, or start strong and then slack off. We've got some obvious flaws in our technical abilities with passing and work rate among some players. The problem is when it happens to most or all players in a single match. We need consistency and discipline if we're going to win anything, Ole or no Ole.

    100% agree.

Don’t know he went for decent money to Villarreal as well think they payed £21m for him so will be looking much more.

Get an early goal, which will hopefully lead to a comfortable 2-0 victory with no issues. Hopefully.

I hope shaw isnt rushed back from injury, i'd rather he is rested and fully recovered for the weekend.

Yeah, Bournemouth grabbed a wad for him.

He is a quality player though so doubt he'd go for any less that £35m plus.

I cant handle a repeat of the Europa League final. A few goals please.
