Given the defensive positioning of telles and dalot we could really use the recovery pace of varane and bailly. Wish Ole would have the balls to do this but doubt it, he's gonna go more defensive due to the injuries I think.
It's actually good if it forces Ole's hand, imo. We cannot beat them through the middle, but work them all game as hard as we can down the flanks, and they are more likely to crack. Take them wide and physically and mentally fatigue them whilst having Ronaldo, Cavani, or both lurking in the middle and I think we can breach them, even if it's some scrappy goal off a chaotic scramble.
I'm not optimistic about a win here, and we better not lose, but I think there's ways to go about getting 3 points that are concertedly better than others for this game.

By the Caf saying he is under pressure doesn't actually mean he is. His job is completely safe right now, the only way he comes under pressure is if we go out the group stages and are 6th in the league.

Matic - Depends on which Matic shows up.. .the game control one or the old slow one.
I would go with Pogba and McTominay... and bring on Matic with legs for the late 2nd half...Since we are weak on full back side, he will start McFred . Which will be a good thing as we need a good delivery from wings.
I hope you're right as I back Ole, but 4 losses in 5 games is gonna cause some concern.Regardless of form or what I think of Ole's decisions, Villarreal are always going to be a pain in the hole.
