    Great line up, and it's such a shame seeing Shaw injuried. This team has a lot of quality.

    True, but bar an injury, both Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger are well up for 90 min. their stamina is excellent. Worst case, fellaini can play there or Blind goes up and Jones in. Or Rooney goes in there and Pereira in for Roon. No sweat, although all of those are lacking compared to our starting line-up. That being said, Blind is no shit player in midfield :)

    Yes, both him and Vierinha aren't part of the squad. Both are a huge loss.

    I'm happy enough to be swerved by the Valencia inclusion, it makes the back 4 stronger than using Young at LB IMO. Also really happy to see Pereira and Wilson on the bench.
     
    I like it that Van Gaal doesn't rotate too much, Fergie was overdoing it in his last few seasons.

    I hope the players will be able to handle it physically... it might turn out to be a mistake but for team cohesion etc. it is the way to go.
     
    Disappointed with Valencia staring but otherwise great.

    I meant, that they are match fit, and hopefully get a run out :). If thing are going really well in the second half the boss might want to spare the energy of the defence for the weekend.

    Every time I see them, Vierinha is excellent. Tidy, clever, hard-working and mobile. He and Trasch linking up were the only danger they posed to Dortmund, for example.

    Balanced lineup with a ball-winner and passer in the middle and a wide player in Caliguri on one side and Kruse probably more narrow on the other. Martial's pace should trouble Naldo and Dante if we can get him on the ball, presumably from a slightly wider position.

    One thing to watch out for is that last year in their defeat of Bayern they sat deep and Arnold was brilliant at making the pass to ignite the counter attack. No De Bruyne for the final part of it, obviously, but if they sit deep and we have all the possession, we'll have to be alert to it.
