career ending
He got paid major amounts to live his dream at the expense of his knees, anyone would have done the same. Same applies for winning every major award at club level, there was extreme self-motivation for that, he's won more than many in the game. Giving his all is the bare minimum expected from a professional footballer paid millions a year. He was no where near as instrumental as Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez and co.What about grinding his knees into paste for us playing injured, giving his all, and being instrumental in winning the CL?
We got one full season out of him and we paid him handsomely to sit on the injury table for the remainder of his contract. At the end of that contract, instead of showing loyalty to United and going to a team where he would have played more games (which is apparently what he wanted) he decided to sign for City.
He's a dick.
