Spurs only have two dangerous players in Kane and Eriksen so once we stopped the service to them, we were comfortable. Plus the goal obviously gave us a much-needed lift.

After that, we've seen some decent signs, especially in our pressing play, though we still struggle to create. The attacking trio behind Rooney has been promising, I particularly like Depay's attitude. Think he's going to become a star for us.

Darmian looks like a shrewd signing too.

The problem with Rooney though is that he'll typically always come deep. He's a player who's often a hard worker and it's in his nature to drop back when he can.

Darmain's positioning and defending has been good, going forward he hasn't offered much

Schniderlin has done okay, putting himself about well and getting involved with defence and attacks dispite spurs trying to bypass the central midfield when in possession

Mata looks out of his depth when out wide (especially in the first 15) looks better when he's come inside and linked the play up

Young would prob be having a better game if the obstruction rule hadn't been abolished?

Think Shaw has been a bit ineffectual, playing with his head down when on the ball

This half has shown why I think our football shouldn't be called possession football. If your not able to keep the ball without finally resorting to a long ball then it's not possession football.
