I did see him. Played like shit. Still is stylistically the only suitable Eriksen backup. Can't just ask McTominay (who is Casemiros backup) to play as a more creative player, doesn't end well.Eriksen on the bench, Fred starting again. This game is lost before it started. That sucks.

You can't put Eriksen and Casimero against 3 central midfielders in Tottenham. They would tear us apart. We can argue who would play, Fred or McTominay, but in this game Eriksen can't play deep midfielder.Also need to consider that when choosing Fred over Scott to pair with Casemiro ETH is doubtless factoring in that they have played together a fair bit for Brazil and so are familiar with each others game.
Fred always gets shoehorned into a position thats not him and then gets the world of criticism when he is shit at it. Rashford playing instead of Ronaldo does make sense even if he’s not a number nine, just because we need a threat in behind if we’re not gonna keep the ball (and I imagine we won’t/can’t)

Two weeks ago the most vocal posters wanted Casemiro and Fred Midfield with Eriksen in place of Bruno. We have 2/3 of that midfield and the moaning is non-stop.
